Default Question!

Hello Everyone!

What do you use to track your calorie intake! I used to use fitday but remember seeing another website which I can't remember for the life of me now!!!!

Any ideas??

I personally use www.fitday.com however there are other websites like:
www.thedailyplate.com and www.calorieking.com which seem to be the most popular on this site.

I know Layri already mentioned it, but I use The Daily Plate. It has a much larger foods database than Fitday, including lots of brand name items. They both have their ups and downs, but I used Fitday religiously for over a year and now have fully converted to TDP.

I have a program I use on my Palm device...it's got a huge database of foods included, and you can add foods, calculate recipes...I've been using it for years (well, off and on...if I'd really been using it for years, I'd be at goal )

I use Calorie King. I have a Mac and it's the only program I found that works with a Mac. It has a huge data base and is easier to use than fitday, for me. If you type in "oatmeal" you get.... ta da, Oatmeal! Not oatmeal cookies or oatmeal meatloaf

haha, that was my frustration with Fitday, too. Also, those who work for Fitday apparently do not own a grill. "Grilled chicken breast" is nonexistant. Also, you have to keep trying different versions of words to find what you need. For example, either "strawberry" or "strawberries" is not in their database, so you won't find the fruit if you enter in the one that's missing.

I'm just starting out and I think I might be old school but I'm using pen and paper (notebook, really) and a combination of the daily plate and TBL calorie counter book and labels. I'm hoping I'll start remembering more of the things I eat on a regular basis....I'm also trackin fat and fiber for now to make sure I'm getting enough.

I thought about this for about 2 seconds before I admitted I would undoubtedly end up losing my notebook. Multiple times Yeah, I'm just that organized Online works for me since I sit at a computer all day at work and have a laptop to use at home.

I use fitday, but I also have the daily plate membership too. I am thinking of switching to use thedailyplate just for the ease of finding things!

Thanks for all of your suggestions on the Calorie Counters, very useful information. I just signed up @ The Daily Plate. Seems like they really push the "gold" membership though.

I'll just be using the basic.

I've only ever used the basic, and I've been a member there for over a year. The only thing I'd be interested in the Gold for is maybe to see the breakdown of my fats since the basic one just lumps all fat together, whereas Gold shows saturated vs. unsaturated. That one feature hasn't been enough for me to want to cough up any money yet, though
