Default Wah! Wah! Wah! Need Support!

Hi all --

I have lost the same 20-50 pounds a few times over the past 20 years. Now, at 52, I am so, so, SO frustrated by my inability to start eating more healthily ... And, am overcome with the too-familiar self-loathing that sets in when clothes don't fit, pictures are shocking, etc.

I've heard such good things about this community, and hope I can find some encouraging "voices" out there. I'm new at posting on forums, etc., so please excuse if I'm not going about this the right way. Plan to read through the topics and posts when I get home tonight.

Thanks for "listening"! Hope your days are off to a good start!

Hi there and . . . you've definitely come to a great place for lots and lots of support, Chickie. Glad you found us, we are all here for you and together we can do it.

It's a big, big place so take your time and have a good look around . . . don't forget to check out our Age 50+ Forum . . . it can be helpful to chat with othere who know exactly what you are going through -- losing weight does not get easier as we get older, unfortunately.

Have you got any particular eating and/or exercising plans in mind? Take a look at Diet Central where you'll find an active forum or thread for just about every healthy eating regimen that's out there. There's also an exercise forum with lots of suggestions and support, also.

You hve a good day, too . . . we'll all be looking forward to getting to know you better.

Thanks Meowee! I love Nova Scotia! I will scoot around and learn the site. It's great to hear how helpful it's been for so many people. I have followed Weight Watchers several times, and find that plan works pretty well for me. Thanks for the tips and welcome!

eizyod - 3FC is the best. I have been on numerous forums, and none come close to this one! Just spend some time reading the different sections, and you will find your 'fit'
