Default Hey! I'm a Newbie!

Hey everyone!
Alright so im not that old, only 21, but i am encredibly unhappy with my weight. I am 4'10" and around 133lbs. That may not seem much to some people, but on a short person, 133 is overweight. I used to call myself a stump because I and short and thick. I think that my "ideal" weight according to doctors is around 100-110 lbs. If I could loose 20lbs, that would be great! I don't think i've been that small since i was 10 lol.
I have my work cut out for me though because I also have and underactive thyroid, so it is REALLY easy for me to gain weight. I can seem to stay motivated to stay on a diet for three days and then my cravings get the better of me and i tend to engorge myself instead of just eating enough to fill my craving.
No one supports me in my efforts to lose weight either. It is very hard to tell a bunch of college students that the stuff they are eating is bad for you or that I don't want any.
I would just like some support and ideas for motivation and craving curbers from anyone! I hope to get to know a few of you!

Hi there BOOTYGIRL . . . . . . you've come to a great place for lots of support and encouragement, Chickie -- a couple of spots that might be great for you are Twenty Somethings and Featherweights -- you'll find lots of people who can relate closely to your problems in those two areas.

When you get cravings, try having some water or a cup of hot (unsugared) tea. Sometimes that's all you need to get your mind off the craving. Also, try to fit in protein with every meal or snack that you have because it does a great job of keeping you full for longer.

Good Luck . . .

Welcome, BootyGirl!

Yes, I would love to be 133 (or 144 or 155... ), but I know it's a big deal when you're under five feet in height.

There's also a thread here called, "Short Chicks" if you feel like jumping in there.

Hang in there, girl... there's lots of great support to be had here.
