Default I care that I don't care... and it makes me angry

I was doing really well, really I was! Lately though, I have been sooooooo hungry. I was eating the regular 1600-1800 calories, but found myself wanting more. So I have been slipping off track. Yesterday I tried to stay on plan and became very dizzy until I I had a vitamin water and a string cheese. What is going on. The thing is that I am so hungry that I find myself not really caring what I put in my mouth. I still weigh myself, and have gone up and down the same pound, today is a down, but I don't want to take advantage of that fact. My clothes are still becoming increasingly lose but I feel that I am going to mess it up. I have been pretty on track with exercising, doing a 15 minute mile on the treadmill or speed walking. I am really active so I was thinking that might be the problem with the hunger part. But the not caring what I put in my mouth part thats pretty bad. So I guess I feel bad that I don't feel guilty when I eat something wrong. Is it possible to have guilt over not having guilt.

I don't know what to do, has anyone gone through this before?

Hey! Wow, this is unusual... Some questions:

1. How often do you eat? How much each time you eat?

2. How much exercise/activity are you talking about, and what kind?

3. Do you know your nutritional breakdown, that is, what percentage of proteins/fats/carbs you are eating?

4. How do you track your calories?

1. I eat about 5-6 times a day

Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner, Snack (maybe)

2. I try to do 30-60 minutes 4-5 days a week, a mix of cardio (treadmill, elliptical) and weight training. Other than that I am always on my feet, I don't own a car and work long hours. Sometimes I choose to walk the mile home after the gym too. I love going out, so on the weekends you more than likely will find me dancing the night away somewhere, or walking somewhere durng the day (I was like that before I started trying to lose weight though).

3. Usually it breaks down about 50 C, 40 P, 30, I know that I take in to many carbs but I have been having a tough time trying to figure that out. I don't have time to really cook for myself so it kinda goes downhill from there.

4. I track my calories on the prevention site, which is hosted by fit day. Before my slip ups I was heavy on measuring, and I am still doing pretty well with that. So I do measure out my foods.

I also take a multi-vitamin everyday

One more question - how are you on water intake? I know that being short on fluids, especially as it gets warmer and you sweat more with outdoor exercise/there is less moisture in the air, can make me feel both hungry and dizzy...

I agree with mandalinn82--be sure you are drinking enough water.

That said, it looks on the surface as though you are doing the right things. Although, your percentages of nutrients are off--doesn't add up to 100 percent. Is it supposed to be 20 P? If so, that's too low, IMO. I try to follow a 30P/40C/30F breakdown.

My suggestions:

- Stay close to 1800 cals for awhile and don't try to go lower.
- Be sure that you have some protein with every meal and snack, especially where carbs are involved. And don't forget the good fats.
- If you're going out dancing, be sure you eat ahead of time. Easy to run out of fuel and be too hungry, and then eat unfortunate foods...

See if that helps with the feelings of being really hungry. Try it for a couple of weeks?

When you go out, do you drink alcohol? That can sometimes contribute to not caring about what you're eating. Try to limit yourself on the number of drinks, or pace them out so that you drink a nonalcoholic beverage in between. Or, you could just not drink.
