Wink Need Motivation

Hi Friends,

I am searching for Motivation and I stumbled across this site and decided to join the Forum. Since having my son I have gained 40 pounds and I am depressed. I hate the way I look and how my body has changed. I am trying hard to get motivated. My biggest problem since having my son is my eating pattern has changed drastically, I skip breakfast, lunch and eat dinner late after my son has fallen asleep, after dinner I munch on snacks.. I feel my metabolism is dead and I know excercise brings it back up again but my son has special needs and so my day is jam packed with therapy. I am thinking about trying some diets I have seen online and would like some feedback and to know who has had success with them. First diet is Medifast, Second is Wonderslim from dietdirect and third would be a meal delivery service to get me back in the habit of eating 3 meals again..
It's very hard to get back on track isn't it .. Oh well, I will consider this a step in the right direction. I look forward to getting to know you all well and hope we can support eachother in changing our lives and health for the better.

Welcome to 3FC. No wonder you have such a hectic eating schedule, what with caring for a special needs child. But it is so important to make sure that you do eat throughout the day. I have family members who do meal delivery service through the Nutrisystem and they all swear by it. It kind of forces you eat three small meals a day, along with 2 snacks and a dessert. They say that meal prep time is next to nothing. Maybe you can fix your own meal while preparing the meal for your child. I'm new to this site also but so far I have found it very inspiring and helpful. Everyone is full of fresh ideas and heartwarming support. I hope you reach your goals.

Thanks so much for the welcome Yeah, I have seen the nutrisystem ads on t.v. I am not sold on it yet as I have been to Medifast website not sure which one is the best but hopefully I will work it out soon by reading some testimonials on the forum Good luck with your weightloss Journey

Hi Vix,

IMHO, you need to start taking a better care of yourself and you have to eat. Can you make yourself a number of snacks that you carry with you (if you are out of the house) and have during the day? Some fruit and veggies and maybe a bit of cheese to make it palatable (it seems that all of us at 3FC love the Laughing Cow cheese triangles), a handful of seeds or nuts (I always have a bag of almonds in the office in case I am extra hungry or just need to snack - that saves from caving in and getting a bag of chips from the vending machine).
Best wishes of good luck to you.

Hi Girls,

Thanks so much for your welcome messages.
I do try to take care of myself but honestly, My son's been my number 1 priority for some time now but he's finally coming good and we are setting out on an even path.. sooooooo now it's time for me to come good & get back to my old self.

Tomato, thanks so much for sharing your favorite snacks with me, I will try the cheese snacks you suggested. It's so funny, I have heard so many people say they lose weight not eating.. I wish, I had that luck!!

Thanks again girls, I appreciate your welcome messages and weight loss advice.
much love and success to you all

Do they sell the Laughing Cow cheese triangles everywhere? I absolutely love cheese and right now I eat the low fat string cheese. Another snack option that I think is underrated is unsweetened applesause. That saves me heartache too and it's sooo good.

xonlywishesx,

I don't know if the Laughing Cow cheese is available everywhere but I am guessing (from it being frequently mentioned here on the forums) that it must available all over. I am in Canada and I have to admit that I buy the regular Laughing Cow, not the low-cal, because I saw the low-cal version only in one store and it came only in the smallest pack (I think that's 8 pieces?).
I buy the 24-pack because it is a lot cheaper ($7.99 for a 24-pack versus $3.99 for an 8-pack) and I figured the little bit of extra fat in the regular LC is not going to kill me.

Vix,
Also, Amanda (though she says the credit goes to Glory87) suggested to somebody a tortilla wrap that contains peanut butter and a banana, and I just had it yesterday and I absolutely love it. A quickie to make, easy to transport and not messy to eat - you can have it anywhere. You are much better off eating the healthy stuff than not eating at all.
Make sure you keep us posted about your progress!
