Wink I'm FAT?!

Hi all! I just found this site today and I have to say I LOVE IT! I'm not new to dieting, I think I've done it since I was about 16...I'm now 28. If you've done your math, you're probably thinking geez - after 12 years, you'd think she'd have it mastered! Let's just say I'm a slow learner! LOL
So my goal weight is 160 - although I can't even remember the last time I was that weight! When I went in to have my first child 3 years ago, I was 228. I've since had another child. I stepped on the scale this morning and weighed in at 217. That's pretty discouraging. 2 weeks ago, I gave up the evil soda known as Mountain Dew. I was up to about 3 LITERS of it a day. I haven't completely kicked the habit, but I'm down to about 20 oz. a week. I'm proud of that, but I really banked on kicking soda and having the pounds melt off. Imagine my disappointment after week 2!
I've set up a blog here that I intend to faithfully post to. It's got my weight loss plan on it, although I will tell you right up front, I'm not a big believer in dieting. I just plain need to CHANGE my eating habits. No more late night MEALS (yeah - you couldn't pass my "snacks" off as snacks if you wanted to) and EXERCISE! Since I became a Domestic Goddess, I've also become LAZY.
So - I'm interested in finding a few friends...a good support group. My goal is not only weight loss, but POSITIVITY! While I'm at it, I think I'm going to make it a goal to LOSE the CAPS LOCK KEY. LOL

. . . So glad you found us . . . Never think badly of yourself, Chickie . . . you are trying to travel down the long and sometimes rather bumpy road to better health and fitness just like the rest of us.

You are definitely heading in the right direction and with the right attitude, too. Recognizing that you have to make a permanent life-style change will definitely get you moving in the right direction . . . here's to onward and downward.

Welcome! I think you'll find that all the successful losers on this site had the same attitude that you're realizing is the key - you can't lose weight on a diet. If you want to reach a certain weight and KEEP it, you have to change your whole life!

This is such a great place. I hope you find success here like so many of us have! Don't get discouraged and give up. Stick with it for the long haul. I know you can do it!

Welcome! Feel free to join us over on the misc clubs section "That 70s show"....I know how you feel, I've had kids and can't drop the weight and I also worship soda. It's hard to give up and probably where most of my calories come from.

I am glad that you found this site! I am recently new as well. But its became another of my addictions! Its a wonderful place where people are friendly and helpful and funny too! I understand 100000000% about you being at home and being what you called "lazy" I am at home daily I work from the computer so my fatarse sits for atleast 12hrs a day m-thurs doing the same ole routine. I kicked soda's a long time ago so I feel you on that. I will still have the occasional sprite and very very rare barq's rootbeer but I've not even had those in over a month now. Nothing but water and 2 small glasses of juice in the last month! Look around the site though I am sure you will find tons of good things to read that will not only help you but also entertain you!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I just want to say GREAT JOB to all of you with your little weight loss tickers. LOVE IT!
To net knee ~ is it not cruel enough punishment to have to do the chores you listed? That SHOULD count as exercise, shouldn't it? hahahah OK, so seriously, have you tried stair stepping while folding? Or maybe just marching in place. Or MAYBE I could let you borrow my 1 year old during your chore time....that would DEFINITELY make it count toward exercise because he's always in to something!
I do fully intend to share a SUCCESS story here. I neeeeed to! I did very well today, by the way. No snacks and NO SODA! WOOOOOOT!
Now if I could just bust the !&#$%*# caps key!
