Okay, I never really had a serious binging problem until recently but it was getting out of control and I needed to stop.
So I dare myself whenever I see one coming.
I say to myself "Okay, go ahead and binge, but I dare you to drink that whole gallon of wate(or bottle or whatever), then you can eat as much crap as you want"
and guess what? After I do that, I'm so bloated, I feel like im going to explode and the idea of eating more makes me sick.
Idk, but I've been binge free all through my spring break vacation and today I haven't binged so it's obviously working.
Just thought I'd pass it own.
Also try other variations.
"I dare you to eat a whole bag of _insert very low calorie fruit/veg here_, then you can eat whatever you want"
off topic but I'm also daring myself not to weigh myself until friday. It's been more of a challenge but so far, im doing well.

I definitely understand your point -- it's part distraction and part "you can have what you think you want" when you meet these goals!! I like setting a hugh goal, one that is difficult to meet. Great idea.
Concerns with water intoxication aside (which it sounds like you're well-informed about, anyway ), that's a great idea if it works for you! I often eat a lot of grapes...or a lot of other veggies or fruit, etc. But sometimes eating a lot of whatever just leads me to eat a lot of junk. It's more the binge mentality then the food
When I catch myself feeling really anxious, which is a precursor to the binge for me, I try to list the 50 states. As dumb as it sounds, it diverts my attention and when I'm done the binge impulse has generally passed.
oh man i wish i would've found this thread earlier! i just gave in to a very high calorie binge. why oh why do i keep sabotaging myself? and i still want to eat more!!! i must put a stop to this madness!
