Default Question from a Lifetimer wanting to get back to goal

I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this!

I attained Lifetime status a couple of years back. Since then, I've put on a lot of wait that has put me a ways above my goal. I want to get back there, and have been thinking about joining up again.

Money is tight, though. I know that since I am above my goal by so much, I can't attend meetings for free, but if I go to a meeting and do join, do I have to pay the initial membership fee again?

I am in Canada. I don't know if that makes a difference. I'd just ask at a meeting, but I won't be able to get to one until next week sometime so I thought if I could get an answer here I might save myself a trip.

As a Lifetime member you never pay the registration fee, just the weekly fee. In the US you're not required to WI every week but if you attend a meeting every week and you're over goal you would have to pay. So if you wanted to attend this week you would pay the weekly fee (in our case it's $12), if you decide to not attend next week and then come back the following week you would just pay the weekly fee, Lifetime members aren't charged missed meeting fees. Does that make sense?

I've been a LT member since 1999 and attend weekly meetings because I know if I don't my weight will reflect the fact that I'm not being accountable.

You can go back and only pay once a month when you are weighed in (first meeting you attend for the month). You can then attend as many meetings as you want the rest of the month for free, but not if you get weighed. This is how it works at our club.

That is how it works at my meeting place as well.

Great, thanks. This makes sense. I just found out that there is a meeting on campus, so I might check that out.

That is not quite how it works.

The Lifetime fee is paid, if you are over goal by more than two pound allowance, miss a month or more of weigh ins and that should be paid at each meeting you attend unless you attend more than one in a weeks time (multiple meetings in a week is a benefit to all members - without a weigh in at each).

Once you reach your lifetime weight or the two pound allowance, you can weigh in each month for free and not pay the rest of the month and not weigh. Actually the rules do allow that if you weigh in at goal the beginning of the month and weigh in at meetings after over goal, you can still attend the meeting for free. The month is based on the calendar not weigh in date.

Honestly it is rather confusing and many staff do not fully understand it.
