My name is Scott. I'm getting married in 59 days. My amazingly beautiful fiance has lost almost 40lbs in preparation (more than I thought she needed to lose, but she looks gorgeous anyway). I on the other hand, have lost 20 and gained back 10, leaving me still about 25 pounds overweight. I'd really like to maybe not lose all of it, but at least get much closer to an average weight.
My biggest problem is portion control. I tend to eat fast, and eat too much trying to enjoy the taste of food instead of slowing myself down, enjoying it while I eat, and eating less. I know my biggest problem, I just hope the pressure I'm under now can help me push a little harder and focus.
In any case. 3FC helped her. Now I hope you can all help me.
Scott - Welcome! And congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
You already KNOW your issues - portion control, eating too fast - work on those. Take it one day - make that one minute - at a time. This is a lifestyle change. Work on taking half of the food you normally would. Eat it deliberately and slowly - savor each bite. Then go back for more only if you are really hungry. I'm betting that you won't go back very often.
Good luck! You CAN do this! And 3FC is a great place to hang to remind you to stay focused

Now, let me say :congrats: on your wedding! How exciting!
You have definately come to the right place for support and help! I'm new here too and am amazed at how wonderful and supportive everyone is. The people here are fantastic!
You know where your issues are, so working on a few of them may help along the way. We'd all like to help you along the way! Have a look around, post where you're comfortable, and don't hesitate to ask if you have questions ^^
Welcome and good luck ! Half the battle is deciding to do it ! Avoid fried foods and desserts , sugar is a culprit, too . Eat fresh fruit and veggies , lean meat , chicken or fish.
leanmoomercows...hello. I was wondering if you would mind being my personal motivator? I started 2 months ago @ 166 and am now to 149. My ultimate goal would be 125, but realistically i'd go for 130. Would you be willing to except this challenge? I'm so close i can taste it (with my halitosis breath! lol) anyway, i really need that last little push and your weight loss is almost the same as i need. Anyway, let me know please
Have you tried the Paul McKenna Plan? It is awesome for people like you and I who are horrible "dieters", also I know Weight Watchers is great as well.
