I tried making them once, and I must have done something wrong, because I didn't like it!
I wish I did, because I want to like more veggies... Please tell me what you do to make them so good!
Ugh, I tried to steam one once...it was so much work to eat it, there really wasn't a lot "edible" to it, and I was just let down. Miserably. By a vegetable. Maybe I did it wrong too...
Add to a pan (big enough to boil an artichoke) some basil, lemon zest, garlic and a bit of olive oil.
Then cut off the rough end of the stem of the artichokes
Boil water
Add artichoke to boiling water and tilt the lid over the pan for 45 minutes or until tender
Then I melt just a little bit of margarine and dip the leaves in it and enjoy!
(ALSO: Do not eat the "hair" inside the artichoke...simply remove it with a fork and then you can enjoy the heart of the artichoke...my favorite part!)
