Angry Newbie!!

I'd like to say a big HI!!! and I'm excited to join this "100lb Club!" I too found myself at my all time highest weight last Thursday. It was quite a shocker considering I weighed 30 lbs more than the last time I'd checked!! I've been through a lot over the past year.. I got married last July, then my husband got fired in September, dealing with depression.. I've gained about 50lbs in 7 months. SCARY! So now its time to work to get it OFF and OFF for good.

I've dealt with weight issues my whole life. I'm naturally "Big-Boned" (NOT JOKING!) so a healthy weight for me I'm expecting to be about 180 lbs or so. So that makes 117 lbs to lose!! I've already had great results, I've lost 5 lbs since last Friday (not shocking since I was easily consuming 3000 calories a day before I started this diet). I was just hungry all the time. I could eat and eat without ever feeling full. (I've figured out now I'm a carb addict and probably a food addict too!!) I have tried many diets, none of them worked. I'm incredibly busy during the day and don't have the time for a full-fledged WW program.. so I've combined a slim-fast diet with WW on my own (with my Doc's help.) Shake for breakfast, shake and a salad for lunch, and a healthy dinner (its easy for me to make a good dinner, not so easy to set up breakfast/lunch) (tonight its Cola Chicken 4 points a serving!! EXCELLENT!! let me know if you want the recipie.)

Thankfully I have great support in my husband, my parents, and my best friend (WW Poster child.. lost over 100 lbs!!!) So I'm hoping I can do it this time. My husband has struggled with an addiction, so he's good at helping me with mine!!

I'm a web junkie, so I hope to make good friends with all of you!!

Hi Beth Anne and Welcome!!! Just reading your post gave me some inspiration this morning. Thanks!

This is a great place for inspiration and support. And I've made alot of new wonderful friends. It's like no other.

Congrats on your weightloss so far! Bet you feel good, and you should!

I too had a rough year, and after losing 62 lbs I put back on 30 lbs in about 9 months. Was very depressing and I have kicked myself in the rear for the last few months. I can't believe how quickly I put it back on. But I stopped exercising, not only stopped watching what I was eating, but I ate everything in site. And often spent the night with some wine or beer. Was a very stressful time in my life, but no more. I refuse to put back on the rest. From here on out, am only going forward. o more sabotaging my health or my happiness.

So, welcome again and make yourself right at home. I have a feeling your going to love it here.
Wishing you the best along your journey.

I too am aiming for an "above average weight on the charts" lol. 165 is my goal, but it all depends on muscle and all that. I was happy at 170 back in the day, so time will tell. Chart says 140 for my height, 5'7..lmao.

Welcome... we're just a bunch of big boned grrls around here, aren't we? lol, I'm also large framed, and heavily muscled... not to mention I'm 6' tall, so I'm aiming for a nice 170/180, and my hubby thinks even that would be too little...lol, I was 230 when we met, and he thought that a bit of toning was all I needed so, when I get back down to there, I'll work with it, and see how things look... We're vegan, so as long as we stay away from the prepared foods and junk, we usually do OK, hubby has lost about 40 pounds, gained a couple back though, I think...and I've lost 22 so far, and hopefully HOLDING at the 22...lol, we've had some slips recently...

Welcome Beth Anne

You've come to the right place if it wasn't for this site and all the time I spend reading the posts and the encouraging responses, I'm sure I'd been shoving food In my mouth, out of boredom and habit. I read one lady's Journal and that was enough to get me motivated.

I started 2 weeks ago and have lost 11lbs so far, I'm not following any set diet, just making healthier choices, smaller portions, and lots of water, no pop. I'm trying to get in some excersises, I have a bad knee so anything to bouncy is out of the question.

I've been on weight watchers, and enjoyed it but I hate journaling and keeping track of everything, and when I have one bad day and fall of track, I just give up and back to the bad habits. So doing it my own way I set the boundries and limitations and If I can't handle something then I alter my program a little, I'm sure I'll be doing alot of altering, but right now it seems to be working.

Hope you get all the support and motivation you need, keep us posted.:sheep:

Welcome Beth Ann I've not been here long but this is a good site for support and inspiration. Glad you showed up. Now I would really like to see that chicken recipe as chicken is my meat of choice. Thanks and good luck on your weight loss journey.
