Default nutrisystem and medifast!! please help!!

ok, so I know that this is the hundereth thread of its kind on the forum, but I'm new and would reallly like some help.
I am seriously considering joining one of these two programs, and up to my ears in research for both!!.. but I can't make a decision!

I am not a fussy eater and do not really care about the tase of the products, and I have calculated, and I know the programs will cost me more or less the same price.

I have about 33 pounds to lose and I was wondering how long each of the diets take, how much can i expect to lose in a month? I know that Medifast is supposed to be faster, and as much as I would love to lose the weight as fast as possible, is it going to be harder to keep off than NS?

has anyone done both and has preferences or advice that does not have to do with taste or cost?....
any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Weight loss is so individual that no one could say exactly how much you would lose in a month.
I do NS, my first month I lost 10 pounds and I was thrilled with that. Now I lose about 4 pounds per month, and as long as the scale is generally going downward, I am happy.

Fast weight loss is not good weight loss, and the less you have to lose overall , the slower it will be for you.

I don't know about Medifast, but a strict following of the NS program will put you at about 1200 calories per day (depending on your add ins - I bumped mine up to 1350).

I tried nutrisystem and it really is so expensive when you start adding in all the extra food that you are supposed to have. I figure that $300 for the program monthly and an extra $70 at the grocery every week really does add up. (I also didnt lose any weight on NS) I am now going to do Medifast and all your meals but your Lean and Green are completely covered so you dont have all the extra add ins. Good luck with which ever program you choose!!! I really debated them both as well.

Just chiming in here... I lost all my extra weight (~50 pounds) with Medifast last year, so obviously I am very happy with it. I've been maintaining at or below goal since June 2007.

The food doesn't taste great, but hey, it's a diet! I just picked the things I liked and ignored the rest.

It works fast, I lost 15 lbs. the first month, then 10 pounds per month the next 2 months, then it slowed down to 4-6/month.

I still eat 1-2 MF meals most days just because I like them, they have extra protein and vitamins, and they're easy. I also liked eating 6 meals a day!

It is a little pricy, but I used to spend more on food because I ate junk and ate out a lot before MF.

I did NS years ago and didn't get far with it...

My two cents, good luck whatever you choose!

I just received my first case of Medifast meals. i received 5 weeks of food with a few extras tossed in, a book, and a couple of shakers. it isnt terrific tasting but then it's not so yummy that you just want to eat the whole box right away. the snack bars are good. the cappucino not so. the oatmeal is okay if you eat it with your eyes closed. the soup is palatable. have not tried the pudding yet but i think i'll stick with this diet knowing of the results it produces.
