Question One month until goal weight?

I realized today that my mini goal is lower than my long-term goal which means that I should be within one month of my goal weight. This got me wondering if I need to re-asses my goal. It’s hard because I can’t imagine being done in a month, and I don’t think 8 pounds will really be enough to loose for me to feel like I am done. So I think I am going to have to regretfully change my goal weight, it almost feels like gaining 5 pounds (stupid I know). Has anyone else had to reassess their goal weights?

I have a goal weight of 215... but if this time around things are easier and the weight is coming off without too much of a struggle--- I would definitely be open to moving my goal down some more if I think it's do-able!

I arbitrarily chose 140 for my goal, as I recall weighing about that in high school and college when I was a size 8-10 in jeans, I figure once I get down to 140 (or if I find I'm happy at a high weight) I will make a decision whether thats my ideal weight or not. Especially since I exercise more now, I know muscle mass affects your weight, I dont want to tie myself to a number on the scale, I'm more concerned with what I look like I guess, a toned 150 would be more acceptable to me than a jiggly 140.

I have changed mine a few times with changing mind sets - when I first started loosing a few years ago I dropped down to 110 pounds (50kgs) because I got caught up in skinnier is better.

This time around (yeah...I gained a few and gained health back lol) my goal is 135 - 138 pounds (or 61-63kgs) which is where I am currently sitting. I'm 5'6 and a definite pear...big hips slim upper body so this weight works well for me. Even at 138 I have defined muscles. My goal is for fitness rather than just being thin.

Having said that I am still a US 4-6 (Aussie 8-10) and quite happy with it

Anyway...thats my rambling way of saying yes...I did change my goal weight lol and some of the reasons why!

I chose 115 because it was my high school weight. I have been thinner than that, but I thought it was a good starting point. Once I hit 115 I'll probably change my goal weight to something lower as I want to be not only thin but have a nice toned body as well!

I've changed my goal weight a few times. I even maintained at a goal range around 145-149 for several months before deciding to reduce my goal weight still further.

My advice is to wait to you get to your goal. Then maintain it for about 1 month, this way you will have hit your weight loss goal. Then you can work on a more fitness oriented goal (stronger, more cut, leaner). At that point you will have given yourself a new starting point and you will be able to start off with a bang! Congrats!

Well done! You're nearly there!

I always thought my ideal weight would be 126 pounds, but when I actually got there previously I realised it is still slightly too much. But you don't really know what you're gonna look like til you actually reach your goal weight, and scales don't tell the whole truth :-/

I would think it would be pretty normal to reset your goal weight once you get close. You know your body better than anyone so you know what'll feel right!

That being said, how exciting is it you're that close to your original goal weight? That's awesome! Even if it is annoying to have to lower your goal weight now it's still a major accomplishment and I'm hoping you see it as such
