Thank y'all so much! Please make room for me on that Loser Bench - first weigh-in is another week - yea!! Surely after 2 weeks on not much but chocolate Glucose Control Boost maybe that apple (on my weight-tracker) will finally start moving down (just like Newton promised???)

It's a whole new world, that's for sure. My belly looks like someone took a jackhammer to it - there are about 6 holes plus the lovely blue marks from Lovenox - I could copy that off and get a nice price for modern art

As I said on the other thread, it's so wonderful to have people out there who will support and encourage you. I am sooo grateful for all of you - if I haven't learned anything else in life, I've sure learned that's it's pretty hard to make positive changes all by yourself

Hard to believe those months and months and months (hoop-jumping) that I thought would never end, finally DID!!!! Love, Carol

Thank y'all so much, and BizzyBee it is SO worth it. Even after just 10 days I can't believe how much better I feel! My joints are much less sore, and I can move around so much better. Can't tell anything on my clothes; in fact, my waistbands are tighter, I think b/c of the swelling left over from the surgery. My diet has consisted of liquids only (I couldn't tolerate soft stuff after all in the beginning) until today when I ate a bit of baby food and organic cottage cheese. So far, so good. But it sure is a whole different mindset. Still hard to look at someone eating potato chips and you can't have any but guess that too will pass, LOL! Love, Carol

Double post...sorry lol

Carol, I remember eating clear liquids for two weeks and during the 2nd week my family was eating dinner while I sat in the living room almost in tears... it drove me nuts LOLOL but we survive right. We really must be very careful the first 6 weeks after surgery...last thing we want to do is hurt ourselves by not listening to our doctors orders... no matter how badly you want to go against it... don't Before you know it you'll be eating solids.

I really need to get a fill.... don't know why I won't go...its a mind game at this point. I can eat a decent amount of food and kinda like it but at the same time I'm not losing an ounce

We must TRAIN THE BRAIN !!!! with out it, the band doesn't do its job because even with this tool, you can still gain weight by eating all day long and the wrong foods.

Leenie, I've been soooo tempted just to take "a bite" of something solid. But since even when I don't thoroughly chew up the softer stuff I can "feel" it, the feeling passes quickly LOL! Just am paranoid about stretching out the pouch - I think that maybe everytime I feel uncomfortable I might have done some damage. Can they tell when they examine you? My first post-op visit is this week - don't have any idea what to expect.

Your still swollen inside and it takes several weeks to heal....so thats probably what your feeling (pressure), thats why doctors say to go slow and stay on liquids for a while. Once the swelling goes down, before your first fill, you'll be able to eat just like before being banded.... don't panic this is normal. The band does not work without fills.

Did your doctor tell you how much to eat at one time? 1/2 cup? did he instruct you how slow you need to eat? if not, ask during your next visit.

Your first visit your doc will just ask how your doing, check your incision and weigh you.... he will also give you the go ahead to start your next "diet step" either mushies or solids. After 6 weeks he will allow you to start exercising and will schedule you for a fill if necessary.

Don't worry
