Default 300+ Weekly Thread #1150

WELCOME

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!

HAPPY ST PATTY'S DAY EVERYONE

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand...

and....may God melt away all the extra poundage and gives us lifelong health!
Amen!

hugs

Howdy, all! Today's my "quiet" day -- I work in an office Tues-Sat, and then have Sun and Mon off, but I also run my own business, so Mondays are chock-a-block with work. I'm walking better, and I can't tell you how awesome it is to stand on two feet!!! I feel much more stable -- no more falling into walls -- and can see how I will be more mobile as time goes on. I'm hoping to get to the gym with my husband tonight, but he left late and thus will be working late, so we'll see. I think it would improve our moods for sure! I'm amazingly almost done with the back of his new sweater -- I love patterns that look cool but that take zero brain power to accomplish! So I've started my mom's sweater I figured it would be nice to have something to show her when she visits in April, and her sweater is even easier than his!!! Love the easy.

Hummus and pita chips and water for lunch today -- yum! Hope you all have a happy and successful day!

Hi everyone,

I had the most wonderful day yesterday. My friend decided to go over the top in celebrating my birthday. His partner wasn't along for the day but was involved in the planning and the gift. Normally we exchange small gifts and that is it, but he went overboard and I have decided to graciously accept the generosity without feeling weird about it. Our friendship goes back many years, and I appreciate that he wanted to do something extra special for me this year.

My friend is gay, and I call him my personal Queer Eye. He is the one who picked out my eyeglasses, and I rely on his taste for my home decor as well. Yesterday he picked out a blouse for me at Kohl's that I would have passed right by, and sure enough it looks spectacular on me.

Happy St. Patricks Day to all of you. May the luck of the Irish be with you today. I hope that you find your real or virtual pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The pots contain special weight reducing gold.

Happy Saint Patty's day!

Well GM everyone! I have found out the hard way I am allergic to milk... what is it? Lactose intolerant... As many know my stomach bothers me hurrendously all the time. Well last nite I was so sick it was not funny. Turns out I am lactose intolerant. So, I am now on a mission to find alternatives as I live on cereal, but this would explain why I have such a hard time with beef as it is high in lactid acid.

Well, lol been trying to type this in between work. I will do more update later.
Not weighing this week as it is TOM.

Talk more later

Hi. I am new to this sight and thought I might need to introduce my self. I am 30 years old with one son, a niece who lives with me, one step son and step daughter.
I am now weighing in at 344 lbs. The weight has crepped on over the years. I was going to the gym and losing weight when I met my husband, but all that stopped. All the weight has come back and more. I find it harder to motivate my self now for being so busy taking care of every one else. I know I wont be here to take care of any one if I don't take care of me first.
I was suprised and am greatful for a thread that FITS me I don't have just a few pounds to loose.

Blargh.. I did that entire DVD the day before yesterday and the last two days I've been +1.

Also, I was watching the "Today Show" and they had the "Joy Fit Club" on. This lady they were featuring lost 200 pounds in a year. She weighed over 400 pounds and started out limiting herself to 1200 calories

Sometimes I wonder if I'm not losing fast enough and 1200? I don't think I could go that low at this point and I don't weigh near 437 like this lady did,

I weighed 434 starting off and I might have done 1200 cals on a couple of days when I was sick. Most of the time I'm around 1900-2100 cals. I guess that will lower as time goes on, but I could never start out at 1200.

I think she went pretty extreme, IMO..

I wonder if she'll be able to keep it off. You hear of so many stories like that where they dont..

Hi all,

Just a quicky to say HUGS to Kayley on your Grandma. I'm so very sorry.

Hopefully my computer will be back home from the "DR" tonight.

Blessings all,
Annie

Anne, yep, I got out the DDR and did 60 minutes on basic. It felt good to get moving and loosen up those joints.

Debi, I'm so glad you got to go to the shower. I bet she got some really nice things. Great news on the sil noticing that you have lost. It makes it that much better to go AND get complimented. And congrats on the 4 lbs gone!

TheWalrus, I got out my yarn too and started an afghan. It does help curb the urge to eat. Thanks for the idea.

Catherine, love the new avatar. So cute!

Bernice, the burritos sounds really good. I love mexican food as it is, and then for it to be lo cal is even better. It sounds like you've been one busy lady with the laundry, cooking and cleaning. You go girl!!

rainbowsmiles, yes I've seen those and enjoy doing them. Right now I'm doing a "Puzzle Challenge" 1000 pc. It's a swap meet but it's all done in cartoon style. I love those. You have to find different things in the puzzle once it's done. I'm going to be in Guiness' World Records for having the most puzzles missing a piece. It never fails, I always end up missing one piece. I think there is a ghost or something in the house that takes just one piece. Either that or the cats get up there, knock em on the floor and the dog eats it. Who knows?
I bet you are going to look gorgeous in that dress. Definitely put a pic up for us to see! With your beautiful blonde hair, and a black dress, how can you not look good???

Julee, I'll be thinking of you for the next two weeks. Hope it isn't too hard to get thru.

Bernice, maybe you need to check your battery in your scale. It might be getting low. Happy St. Paddy's Day to ya!

BrokenButterfly, what a cute pic of the pooch!!! Your dinner sounds yummy. We're having corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. Already got the calories added up so I know what I can have for the rest of the day.

Battle, I'm so glad you had a wonderful day with your friend. And indeed, they are great at decorating and clothing. I miss my dear friend Tim. He passed from AIDS many years ago, but I still think of him often. His apartment was something to be envious of.
Happy Birthday!!!

Tina, o my goodness! Who would of guessed huh? Hope you find something else that's healthy to replace that cereal and milk. Can you try soy?

plumluvin, yep, you've found the right place.Post often so we can get to know you.

I watched a program last night called "I Can Make You Thin". It's pretty much what we already knew, but he says in the next few weeks, he will help us to control cravings and other stuff. So I'll keep watching and see what happens. He even gives homework. This week I'm suppose to sit with no tv or distractions, take a bite, put the fork and knife down, savor each bite, chew 20 times and then stop when I'm full. I think we all knew that but I wasn't doing that. We have all our meals in front of the tv. I'm going to have to try it. He also said to eat at least one meal with my eyes closed so I can recognize when I'm full with a feeling I'll get. Makes sense. I think it comes on TLC if any of you get that and it's at 9 p.m Sundays.

I think I shocked my body by eating all that crap the last couple days. I actually lost a pound. I guess I didn't do as badly as I thought. I just hope it doesn't show up later in the week.
Off to eat my salad!
Debbie

Hi Peeps - happy Monday to you all!

Kayley - hugs to you. It's nice to see you again.

Not so much going on today - just a rainy, busy Monday.

Move your bodies, drink you water and SMILE.

Hugs,
Carol

Battle - sounds like a wonderful day. Maybe a pic in the new blouse chosen by your personal fashion consultant???

Hello my sweet friends,

It's nice to see new avatars and Happy Green St Paddy's day stuff! Very inspiring.

Babybear/Tina.. I am leary of soy milk because it is raw pressed soy and more than a cup a day can aggravate hypothyroidism. I use almond milk, suggested by our Peeps here! I like the flavor more too.

Hugs and Luv,
Ratkitten
