Default Play Station 2 exercise games Suggestions

hi girls (and occasional boys)
SO I have just been handed down a playstation 2. I wasn't terribly excited about it, seeing as I don't play games. But then I started thinking, could I find a good exercise game for the ps2? I did some amazon research and found Dance dance revolution, as well as something called eyetoy. Has anyone ever tried these? I'm not looking to replace my gym workouts with this or anything, but atleast if I'm using the ps2 it will not be my sitting on a couch. any suggestions for exercise games??? Thanks in advance

You can also get one called Yourself! Fitness
I used to use it when we had a PS2 but 2 christmas's ago my boyfriend traded in his PS2 and got an Xbox 360 and as far as I know they never made it for the 360, only the original.

DDR is sooo much fun. And it really is great exercise if you can keep out. I got tired from doing it!

I would also suggest Guitar Hero. Put a strap on the guitar, stand up and ROCK out like a rock star. You ever wonder why so many guitarists are so lean and sinewy? Some of the harder songs are a REAL workout! Particularly if you bounce around a bit.

I love playing ddr although to really get your heart rate up you have to play the more advanced levels and now that I think about it guitar hero could also get you moving if you really get into it which isn't too hard to do. Let us know if you find anything good. I'm always up for something new.

DDR is awesome. I never thought of Guitar Hero as a workout game, I always played it because it's just fun If you have a bunch of cash laying around, you could look into getting Rock Star -- it's like Guitar Hero but with drums and vocals too. The drums will really wear your arms out if you play for a long time!!

And I thought guitarists were lean and sinewy because of all the heroin! I guess that is another option...hehe.

Supposedly, the Xbox edition of Y!F works on the Xbox 360, except that the clock function doesn't work quite right. As a result, you can't unlock the rewards and Maya always scolds you for missing workouts even if you're doing all of them. I haven't tried it personally though, my Y!F is for the PC, but this is what I've read off their website. They might fix the problem, and they claim to be working on it, though that company hasn't come out with anything new in a long time so I really doubt it'll happen. There's also allegedly a sequel coming out someday, but again, I doubt it'll happen any time soon if at all.

Which is really a shame.

I have DDR and love it! I used it when I lost my original 60 pounds a few years ago when I was doing Atkins. It was a lot of fun and got me moving. I had a friend who was really into it. That helps, because it gets a little boring doing it by yourself all of the time. I will have to check out Yourself! Fitness.

I have DDR, EyeToy: Kinetic, & Yourself!Fitness.

I recommend DDR...it's sooo fun and a good workout! And same with EyeToy:Kinetic. I wasn't too impressed with Yourself!Fitness.

Yeah, Y!F is basically an exercise video that rotates your workout for you. It also includes occasional fitness tests and tracks your progress. There are some meal plans to follow to, but I have never tried them out. Unlike DDR and Kinetic, there's not a lot of interaction. I did feel that it gave me a good workout though (a lot of high impact though, if that's a concern. Maya loves jumping jacks). I've never tried Kinetic and I'm not good enough at DDR to get a workout from it.
