Default The 3 Hour Diet

Has anyone every tried this diet? I did it back in 2005, and it really does work. I lost 1 pound a day, and it was healthy! I was able to keep the weight off until recently. On the three hour diet... you can pick from a list of foods which include oatmeal, eggs, fruits, vegetables, tuna, chicken, etc. I was able to lose weight fast and healthy on this diet. I am starting it again on Monday... I'll be food shopping after I get paid on Friday. I was wondering if anyone else had tried this diet. For about the first week on this diet I was so hungry, because my body wasn't use to the change, but before I knew it I was already a month into it! I don't remember the list of foods, it was out of a Womans World magazine... but here is the schedule I followed before:
Breakfast: 2 pack of oatmeal, any flavor. 1 Fruit. Water or Tea
Snack (3 hours later): 1 vegetable, i.e. small apple
Lunch (3 hours later): Chicken & Rice w/ soy sauce. Water, diet soda, or tea.
Snack (3 hours later): I am not sure if it was 1 fruit or 1 vegetable.
Dinner (3 hours later): Tuna salad or shrimp salad.
Like I said, I was able to lose 1 pound a day and I stuck with this diet for about a month. I am trying to lose 20-25 pounds this time, so hopefully with the help of you fellow members I will be able to say "NO" to junk food & my biggest weakness... SODA! Also I have a treadmill and I am going to try really, really hard to devote an hour a day.

I haven't hear of a diet like this, but I do know that is the schedule my newborn has. She eats every two to three hours during the day. Her tiny tummy can't handle anymore.

When I Gestational Diabetes while pregnant with my first I had to eat so much, I think it was almost every three hours like this but I got to the point where I didn't want to eat anymore! I felt full all the time. The meal plan the nutritionist put me on actually made me lose a couple pounds while pregnant. They were concerned about it of course but now I think I might be trying something like this too.

Do you mean the Jorge Cruise 3-Hour Diet? Here's the most recent thread about it . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...t=Jorge+Cruise And here's another one from the middle of last year . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...t=Jorge+Cruise

It was popular here at 3FC a while ago and you should be able to find an older thread with more information by using the "search" facility.

There was also a 3 hour diet that consisted mostly of tuna fish and a lot of beets that was reviewed by the 3FC Administrators and found to be extremely unhealthy -- it was really meant only to be used for 3 days at a stretch and was supposedly being recommended for those trying to drop weight prior to Weight Loss Surgery. Here's the 3FC review about this one . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/Diets/Diet...ed/3_Day_Diet/

the 3 hour diet is very similar to the 6 week body makeover in regards to the every 3 hour thing. I TOTALLY believe in this diet, I did it a while back and lost 40 lbs in 8 weeks. I did regain cause I went back to junk food whenever and didn't work the diet. I'm doing it again and have been on it for 2 and a half months now, and have lost 53 lbs so far, I refuse to gain it back. I believe it is more of a lifestyle than a diet. My mom started eating smaller meals and some snacks every 3 hours, not really following a certain menu, just eating every few hours and has had good weight loss too. So I'm a firm believer in eating 6 small meals a day. There's my 2 cents, not that you asked for that much info, though. lol

how healthy is tuna?

i've heard that it's not actually as good as everyone's said, and i know someone who's a manager at subway - she says tuna subs (with nothing else) are about 690 calories! is this just because of the mayo?

This doesn't sound like a sustainable plan to me. You're eating very very very few calories per day ... the minute you deviate from this plan, you're going to start gaining back.

Also it isn't (IMO) healthy to eat so few calories day after day after day on a regular basis.

I am thinking about trying this plan too but maybe modify it some. My goal is to reduce my calorie intake to 1600-1800 and I will divide those calories throughout the day so that I am eating every 3 hours. I think I have been going too long without eating so when I finally get around to it I over-eat because I am so hungry. Glad to hear that some of you have been successful on this.

I haven't tried this diet, but I did lose weight based on its methods.

I stayed at my brothers house in NC for a weekend and lost 5lbs - which took 2 months to come back on after I went back to my old eating habits.

There were a lot of people at his house, so I didn't take a lot of food. I took a scoop of everything. This always left me hungry, so 3 hours later I found myself back in the kitchen. Taking another scoop of everything.

This continued the whole weekend. I was eating a lot, but I wasn't eating a lot of food. I went home to find that I lost 5 lbs in 2 days. I couldn't keep up the scoop behavior, but even still it took me 2 months to gain back 5lbs.

I believe this diet has a lot of basis. Amazon has a lot of testimonial about people who have lost a great deal off of this method. I'm going to try it again, but be serious this time.
