Red face I took the leap *eep*

I had been half arsed applying for other jobs around campus, but as a thread I had posted a while back in November, I had ended up supervising one of my old bosses for an exam.

I had given her my application. I got a phone call on monday and they found a job that is perfect for me.

I am going in tomorrow morning for an interview. I broke the news yesterday to my supervisors at my current work to ask for a referral.

They're kinda freaked out that I plan to go, as I am the person who excelled in my current position more than anyone ever had.

But they also understand that because of how BUSY and stressful my job is, there is nothing that I can do in that position to help me advance.

Ive had my current job for 4 years, and I'm comfortable, but extremely stressed out - I'm always getting sick because of the students who come in to write deferred exams (because they are sick) and no matter how much I ave tried, I can't stay healthy because of the stress and germs.

So why am I freaked right now??? I should be excited as there is so much more stuff I can do here!!!

If I get it, I can listen to music while I work, I don't have to work in complete silence.

I won't be shoved into a corner and ignored as I am at my current position. I'm the last to know of any news or changes etc, and it's so frustrating.

I won't have have literally thousands of intruptions a day.

I have access to HEALTHy foods if I feel like buying lunches.

I may have access to a gym!

I have flexible hours! If I want to start at 7 and leave at 3 I can, if I want to start at 7:30 and leave at 4:30, I can.

I get flex days

I get yearly bonuses etc

Argh, why am I so nervous!

Life improving is scary, succeeding is scary - so many people stay in crappy situations because it's scarier to put themselves out there. I'm really happy for you, and I hope everything goes well - don't get too stressed out!

You are so nervous because you really, really want the job!! And, I know you'll get it Also, maybe you are nervous because you had to tell your current job and that puts pressure on you to make it work.

I hope your "old" job is nice to you until you leave and your new job is even better than it sounds!!

Good luck!!

My current supervisors are happy for me but upset that I am leaving. They're very very supportive, and have even written me a glowing reference

My interview is tomorrow at 7:30am Ahh!

I know I'll do well in the interview, I'm always confident and good hearted.

Todd says it sounds almost like it's a gurantee that I'll get it because they had my resume for quite some time, and they waited to call me until they knew it would be something perfect for my experiences.

Brenda called me monday afternoon and explained the position and said, does it sound like something you want? She explained all the benefits (earned days off, bonuses etc), when she mentioned the pay - I told her that I get a little more where I work now, and she says "I'm I won't have a problem fixing that situation" and told me to set the time for the interview.

I forgot to eat breakfast this morning, and had to force myself to eat some lunch lol.

The "interview" went well. It wasn't a true interview though, we sat around a table, caught up on the news, gossip, and they explained what my duties would be. There was no "where do you see yourself in 5 years?" or "tell me about the most difficult decision you ever had to make" or "how do you deal with an irate client?" No typical interview questions at all - I had no reason to be freaked out LOL.

They also said that if I'm willing, they can train me to eventually handle my own clients one day. Cool!

They read my reference from my boss, and said - when can you start?

I told them two weeks, not only because it's the proper way to "quit" my current job, but also because I need to train a temp (poor soul).

I asked her how many others they interviewed for the position and she told me "two, but we were really only looking forward to yours". Awww

Anyway, she promised me they would phone me tomorrow morning after they speak to their HR.

I'll let you know!
