Question New point system vs old? Any difference?

Hi. I was on WW about 8 years ago when the point system first came out I believe. I will have to dig my old stuff out of the closet, but was wondering if there is any difference. IE: do I have to go get the new info to be able to go online and read the magazine and be accurate in my points? Thanks. Please note, do not suggest that I go to meetings. I have tried the meetings in the past and well, they just didn't fit me, plus my schedule is always subject to change. I did the home plan and had much success on my own using websites, my books, the magazine and my at home kit. I have been on Atkins with olive oil as my main fat intake for the last 10 months and have hit a plateau that won't end and am considering going back to WW if I do get past my plateau by the birthday the end of this month. Thanks for any info or input.

I believe they changed the maximum fiber amount to 4, down from 10 (?). Not sure what else. Did they have the 35 weekly Flex Points back then? I'm also not sure that they had the same quiz that gives the amount of points used. I think there used to be a maximum number of daily points given back in the day... now it's calculated differently. But that's easy to figure out what your daily points would be, plenty of people would be willing to do it for you with their books

Thanks for the info. Mine must not have been the first because it did have the flex points and it did have the max of 4 grams of fiber. I believe it was the 1-2-3 plan if I remember correctly. Is there a place on here to go to figure current plan points? Thanks.

There is now a quiz to take to determine your daily points - do you know the 8 healthy guidelines? Other than that, you should be okay. Good luck!

the 8 Healthy Guidelines have always been in the books but are now focused on a lot more.

However like Quilter said there is a quiz that determines poitns because it takes more into account than just height and weight.

I know you don't want to do meeting but I think until Monday there is still free registration...you could go and join and get teh week 1 info with the quiz and then not go back.

The only other change would be that you now have the choice between the core plan and flex plan (points). Good luck - I also did it many years ago and just started back again - it is very similar.

Anyone know what is in the quiz? I can't afford to join and am using the materials from the other times I could afford to pay; 2004 Turn Around program.

We are not allowed to post the actual figures because it is a copyright issue.

It is now based on 5 factors:

1) age
2) weight
3) height
4) gender
5) daily physical activity.

If you still have your old materials and that worked for you then it should work now. W/W just made it more indivdiualized with the daily points....and we no longer have ranges.
