Question So confused on the plans

Hi there,

My DH & I were on the old LAWL back in 04 or 05 and we want to retry the plan on our own. By lurking on the board I was able to figure out what juice I could use but I would like if someone can give me the "general" nutrition info on the bars so I can compare that to some bars I already have at home.

Also, I only have the Gold and red plan at home and I think those are both my husbands. Below are our stats, can someone please tell me what plan we should each be on?

Me:
5'5
170 #
normally active, in other words I walk a lot in general throughout the day but I do not work out.

Husband
5'9
260
He actually runs on the treadmill for about 15 min each day and walks another 15.

We are both in our mid forties and are "healthy" except our weight.

I so appreciate the person(s) who take a few minutes of there valuable time to help me out.

Anita

Sorry I can't help you out on what plans to be on, but I do have both the caramel and coconut bars here at work and the caramel bars are 160 cals each, and the coconut are 180 cals each, both have 8 g of protein. Although I use the LA Lite bars as I bought the bulk, I have gathered from these boards that both the Luna and South Beach bars are very similar to the LA bars.

I am sure that someone else with similar stats to yours and your husbands will be able to help you out with the plans to be on.

What plan were you on before? I was doing LAWL in 2005 and my stats were 172# & 5'2 and i was put on gold so i'm thinking you should be on gold right now. They told me i couldnt go down to green until i was 128#. If you are not going to do lites you would be purple.

i think if you are going to buy protein bars from the store you have to make sure its under a certain amt of cals, protein & carbs but i'm not sure what those #s are, hopefully someone else would be able to help with that.

As far as your husband, i'm not sure. I'm thinking red1 but i'm not 100% on that. when i wanted to find out what plan i should be on i called up a center that was open in a different state and told them that my centers closed on me and if they could do me a favor and tell me which plan i should be on and they were happy to help. maybe you can try that and worse case, they dont help you but its worth a shot and then you will know exactly what plan you should be on.

I was on maternity leave at the time so they knew i wasnt attending a center. Maybe you can tell them that you were on hold for a while and dont know where to restart. I dont know if they would be willing to help if you tell them that you were off since 2005 tho.

Hopefully someone on here will be able to help you out later in the day.

Hello "visagirl": There is a Search Feature that you can use that can help you obtain a lot of information with regards to Protein Bar Replacements/Alternatives or for anything pertaining to the program. This feature will save you time instead of looking page by page. Some people on the Forum use Luna Bars, South Beach, Atkins ... to name just a few. Do the search and you will see how much comes up. As far as the LA Protein Bar Breakdown here it is:

LAWL Chocolate/Peanut Butter Bars:
Calories: 170
Calories from fat: 30
Total Fat: 3.5g
Saturated Fat: 2g
Cholesterol 5mg
Sodium 135mg
Potassium 75mg
Total Carb 31g
Sugar 17g
Protein 8g (I believe consistent on all Lites)

LAWL Honey Nougat Protein Bars:
Calories: 180
Calories from fat: 40
Total Fat: 4.5g
Saturated Fat: 3g
Cholesterol 5mg
Sodium 65mg
Potassium 110mg
Total Carb 29g
Sugar 20g
Protein 8g

"DEBBIE24" You seemed to have the same stats I had 2 years ago when I was following the plan. I started on Purple then when I somewhat got to where you are now they put me on Gold and then they told me that the Green was for those last pesky 10 pounds which I wanted to be like 123#. And of course I have used the lited consistently throughout the process.

Your husband's situation also sounds like my husband's plan. I am not sure how much he weighed he could have almost been close to 290 something but of course he is 6'3 and he does have muscle tone. They had him on Red and he did beautiful then of course because he was never a candy eater so he did not want to eat the bars so they had him go to Red 1. I was sooooo jealous because he lost quicker than me But of course we both gained back what we lost and then some.

I tried the South Beach bars and they were delicious. I think I tried the peanut butter flavor. Lunas can be a bit dry for my taste.

I have been getting great case prices on the LAWL bars on ebay lately. I have gotten three cases of Fruit & Oat bars in the past month (a flavor they discontinued here a long time ago) which were totally fresh. The box was dated 12/07, and they are supposed to be good for nine months. I bought my last case yesterday for a "weekend special" for only $50.00 + $20.00 shipping. It has made staying on program so much easier to have the "real" bars. I assume they are being dumped at bargain prices because of the recent bankrupcy of the Pure centers.

Good luck to you. I have been doing this on my own for a year, since my center closed and the "nearest" one is about 40 minutes away.
