Default Weight Watcher Entrees

Hi,
Please post your favorite WW entrees. Let us know the ones you would and would not recommend. I know we are supposed to be learning to eat normal foods, but sometimes I need to depend on ready meals and don't want to go the fast food route. I have a problem with portion control and don't want to measure all the time.

I did not like the pizza ones. They tasted like cardboard.
I like the marinara pasta, or the alfredo pasta, also the vegetable lasagana is good.

I second that, the ziti marinara is a mainstay of mine. I also like the ravioli marinara.

If you are a vegetarian (you chose veggie meals, 1day@atime) be sure you read the labels! Some of the "no meat" meals still have beef fat or chicken stock in them. The ziti and the ravioli are cool, also the macaroni and the alfredo. Just read the labels!

the healthy choice meals are yummy. and i found them far more filling than the ww meals. i really liked the chili/corn bread bowl (6ish points?) or the country pie thing...it had a crust on top. that was also around 6 points.

morningstar corndogs are really yummy too. i think those were around 4 or 5 pts. i haven't looked at points for a while, so you should check before eating.

I'm a shift worker and don't always have the time or inclination to make a meal so I use ready meals on occassion, too.

I like WW Seafood Liguine (real tasty) and the Sante Fe Rice and Beans (I put tons of salsa on it). I don't have a big selection here in Eagle River Alaska so I also try Lean Cuisine and Helathy Choice. Some of those are pretty good.

Good luck!

I'll second the vote for the cardboard pizza... NOT good... but I do like the Lean Cuisine French Bread Pizzas, and they are less points!

I also am new to WW... only on my second week, so I appreciate this thread!

I bring my breakfast with me to work and eat it at my morning break. I throw 1/2 cup oatmeal and 1 cup water in a large container to microwave. I microwave it at home and transfer into a smaller Tupperware container to carry to work. If I want to I add raisins or unsweetened applesauce and a little Splenda. Sometimes I add milk, sometimes not.
I also can rely on throwing fruit and a 2pt. bar into my bag if I'm running super late.
You can make WW muffins
I like a lite English muffin with no fat cream cheese and a smidge of jelly
I like to supply protein for breakfast if I need a protein boost--so then I'll make a Boca burger the night before and put it on a lite english muffin to carry to work.
Another easy protein boost is cottage cheese or ricotta--with fruit
A yogurt is absolutely the easiest, but I tend to get tired of yogurt.
Hope these help a little

The worst item Smart Ones makes is the pizza - yuck. It truly does taste like cardboard. I personally like the Lean Cuisines better. Some of my favorites are:

Chicken Lasagna
Swedish Meatballs
Chicken Carbonara
Chicken Teriyaki
Southwestern Beans and Rice
Meatloaf with mashed potatoes

The Smart Ones I Like Are:

Main Street Bistro Roast Turkey
Roasted Chicken with sour cream/chives

I had the Tuna Casserole for lunch today. I like that one.

I love the Santa Fe Bean one too. LC also makes one like it, that is good too.

The Chicken Enchilada by LC is also good. I think they make 2 different ones. Both were good.

I use them for lunches. We have a freezer at work so I keep one or 2 in there. So I have a choice on days I am not sure what I want. In fact I have 3 in there right now.

Oh yeah the Roasted Potatoes ones from LC are good too. I don't usually get the one with Turkey bacon in it, only because you can hardly find the bacon so I save the points.

Breakfast:
I too eat at work. Oatmeal is one I do. Just put in a cup and add hot water from the coffee machine. Fruit too, plus I use to bring mini pancakes put the syrup or jam on and nuke away. There is no way I am getting up any early so I can eat. Although sometimes if I am starving, I will have a slice of toast at home.

Default WW Pizza

Oh no! I just bought 2 of the WW chicken pizzas and now you guys tell me they're awful! LOL! Does anyone have an idea on how to make them palatable? I hate to waste 8 points eating something yucky.

To jazz up the pizza: saute some vegetables, Japanese eggplant, mushrooms, garlic and onions. Put on Pizza with a little fat free tomato sause. Then cook the pizza.

The chicken alfredo is great, I usually add broccoli or carrots to it though.

The shrimp pasta marinara (3 points) is good but not enough. I find I use that one as a side dish to a full plate of salad with a vinegarette dressing.

The best dinners seem to be healthy choice, but even some of them aren't very good.

I like these though when the family needs some of their normal food such as macaroni and cheese.

A suggestion for the breakfast problem is to pre-plan. I follow weight watchers and the only thing I have before leaving the house in the morning is a cup of tea. I take my breakfast with me to work. It usually consists of a banana and some type of fiber such as rice cakes, breakfast bar or dry cereal. This way I can eat at my desk without everyone seeing me. I find this keeps me going until lunch which is late (1 PM).

Good luck to everyone.
