Santa Fe? - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

I'm going to visit my dad in Santa Fe in May. I've never been, so does anyone have any advice on what not to miss? I'm only going to be there for 2 or 3 days. I've checked out some websites, but it's a bit overwhelming when you're trying to figure out what to do in a short amount of time in a city you've never been in.

When I went to Santa Fe, I didn't care for the city itself but I loved going to Tent Rocks which is between Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

I also really liked doing the tram in Albuquerque and there are a lot of nice walks once you are at the top of the tram.

If you are just going to be in Santa Fe itself, I think you could easily see most things in a day. Also, when we went, we were told that they open up certain museums for free on Friday nights and we walked through the one museum that is in the presidential palace as well as another one. If you like church architecture, the basilica is interesting.

Also, we found that Santa Fe is an early city for the most part so a lot of stuff closes early and actually Albuquerque was mostly the same way.

What do you like to do? I don't get up to Santa Fe much anymore, but I have some ideas.

Definitely check out the Plaza and the Palace of the Governors. If you like to hike, Bandelier is not too far. Acoma is outside of ABQ and is the longest continuously inhabited village in the USA. Again if you hike, you can hike the La Luz Trail to the Sandia Peak in ABQ and ride the Tram down. Two cars are helpful---you'll want one at the base of the Tram.

SF is saturated with artists and galleries, so if you are into that, you will be very happy.

Thanks for the info, ladies! I will try to check out as much as I can during my short trip. Nelie, I don't think I'll make it down to Albuquerque this trip due to lack of time, but my sister's been down there a few time and loves it.

I gotta tell you, I'm really just looking forward to a road trip! It's only about a 6 hour drive, but it's been a long time since I've done a road trip on my own (and not through Kansas).

Road trips are fun and driving through Kansas may be the one exception

Albuquerque is probably one of my favorite cities, I do like it a lot. You also can't go wrong with sopapillas.
