Default Anyone have a "no appetite" issue - as silly as it sounds!

I am vegetarian - I eat no meat or seafood - I use only almond milk - but I will use regular milk in mashed potatoes I make for my BF and sometimes I will have a taste! I don't keep any butter or cheese in the house - although I will eat cheese if that is the only vegetarian thing while eating out. I do eat eggs, mainly whites for my protein.

So what has been happening to me this last week is I am getting used to not eating anything fried or 'bad' for me - I don't even crave it anymore. So I eat pretty healthy - organic too - -nothing processed. But lately I look at what I am eating and it doesn't appeal to me - not even things I love, like Amy's burritos or veggie lasagna. I love my eggs whites in the morning - but not this week - I have my Fiber one with almond milk and I feel like I am going to throw up. I don't even crave my 'cheat' things anymore. I am drinking lots of tea, green tea, so maybe that is suppressing my appetite. But it is getting to the point that I don't feel huger - I just get light headed so I know i need to eat something but NOTHING sounds appealing...

My BF is worried about this and although in some ways it is nice to be free of cravings I am concerned as well... Last night for dinner I had whole eggs the way i usually love and save only for a treat and I have to force myself to eat it ...

Has anyone else gone through this?
I know some may love to not have craving - and I thought so as well -- but not when I feel like I am going to throw up when I force myself to eat!

Any help would be wonderful!

thanks!!

Although I'm not 100% vegetarian, I do on occasion eat fish (especially salmon) and chicken...rarely any red meat. I like egg whites for protein too. I've never had much of an appetite, so even when I started eating more healthy and organically, I still didn't have all that much of an appetite. Drinking lots of water decreased it even further. The one thing that does seemed to have helped increase my appetite some is getting in more exercise. I think that if you have a slower metabolism, you might not feel as much hunger (that's my theory anyway)...it may not be the only reason, but I think it can contribute to it. I will be interested to hear what others say. I don't think it can be contributed to being a vegetarian though (and I don't have a medical degree nor am I a nutritionist...so it's just based on opinion.) I suppose everyone's body is different, so YMMV.

Could be one of a million things, but also doubt is has anything to do with being vegetarian. Are you preggers? Seriously though, I would see if it isn't just a passing phase, if it continues I'd be a bit worried it's a medical issue. Might want to see your doctor just to be sure.

Exercise always makes me more hungry. On days when I lift weights or swim in the morning I always feel I could stuff myself all day and still have room for more!

I thought the same as Shenanigans, could be it's a passing thing or you may be in the family way. Anyway doc is a good idea if it persists

Pregnancy immediately popped into my head as well.

If it persists, you definitely want to see a doctor. Loss of appetite is a serious symptom that warrants evaluation, as it can signify many different kinds of health issues.
