I've used echinecea to boost immune system when everyone around me is sick....or if I feel a cold coming on I use the drops and just add them to my tea or coffee or whatever!

My BIL told me that he did the same for years.....but he has had issues with his liver and when he spoke to his doc about echinecea the doc said that it coats your liver and can cause damage if you have issues with your liver to begin with or if you suddenly become a heavy drinker etc..... not sure how much of this is correct....since It was second hand info....but thought I would post what I had heard about it.

I still swear by it to keep colds away!

before I was diagnosed with MS echineca was an amaaazing god-send cold cure. I would take maybe 5 supplements over the course of a day when cold symptoms first started to show up and be totally fine by the next day!

Now that I'm taking disease modifying meds that focus specifically on changing my immune system - so that it stops attacking my myelin/nerves I cant touch echinecea or vitamin c once i start getting a cold. it actually encourages MS symptoms to come up/ get worse.

basically the stuff works!! if you're got a healthy immune system I'd keep it on hand all the time.

I hear that its good to take when you feel a cold coming on. I take the capsules when I feel sick (cold, sinus issues etc.). It works better than Tylenol Sinus pills or any of the others..as far as my experience goes. I read that it has anti-cancerous properties too..
