I was another 1.4 lower on Saturday morning, which I really thought was going to be enough motivation to make it through the weekend.... but I had 3 parties, and overindulged a little.
I'm down 4 pounds this week. I had a couple of weeks of half pound losses and was just getting ready to acknowledge to myself that the last 15 pounds were going to take awhile, and then all of a sudden a big loss. Nothing different this week but all of a sudden the body decided to cooperate. Who knows why.
Up two pounds. And I swear - I'm completely innocent this time (well, except for a reasonable and planned "cheat meal" on Friday). I have jacked up my strength training and am pretty sore, so I'l call it water weight and keep on keepin' on.
Wonderful to see that the scale's going the right direction for everyone else, even if it's not always at the pace we prefer.
Great to see you looking to leave behind the 230's, Rhonda - this time for good.
And, Robin - a NORMAL BMI? How huge (or not huge) is that? WTG!
Hi, I am new here, but I think I belong in this club. I started at 247.2 and I am down to 234.4. My goal weight is 145. My losses have been very crazy. One week I lost 6 lbs, the next I lost .8. This last week I lost 1.6. I have been doing everything exactly the same...Walking the same amount, using weight watchers and using the same points(flex point program) Do any of you have the same issues? I am trying to stay motivated and quitting isnt an option. So, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I should have said, i started Jan 1, 2008.
Looks like our stats (and even our names) are similar. Yes - I have the same problem you describe. The first week, a lot of people will lose large amounts of weight, just as you have, simply because their systems are flushing out retained water caused by eating highly processed foods. Hopefully, the weeks after that, you should lose at a fairly steady rate. But so many things impact weight - like starting a strength training program, retaining water due to TOM, etc. - that doing the exact same thing will seldom yield the exact same results. As long as the trend is that your weight continues to go down, you are suceeding in your goal. This is a lifelong commitment to controlling weight, and studies have shown that those who remove the weight more slowly are frequently more successful at keeping it off. So - WTG on finding a plan you can work and that seems to be working for you. I look forward to watching you reach your goal - whether it be in ten months, eighteen months, or several years. With each on-plan day, your likelihood for lifelong success grows, even if the scale isn't always as friendly as we would like. (I have been at it for about nine months now, and I'm not nearly as far down my ticker as I had hoped to be by now, but I guarentee that I am much more comfortable with my weight and my fitness level than I was when I started.
Aww My poor Amy girl!
I hope you feel better soon!
I'm not following any kind of plan, just counting calories. I'm averaging about 1500 or so a day right now, and it's workin' just fine.
So...not much help, but, there it is
Dana - I am feeling MUCH better, I came home on Saturday and napped, which helped so much. I am back to eating normally. Congrats on the loss!
Linda - I am having between 1600-1900 a day, sometimes up to 2000, heh. I have more been focusing on having 10-15 servings for fruits and veggies a day. I might have to start regulating my calories if I plan to lose consistantly.
