Default What?! I love exercise?!

Hello chicks,
I know that I don't post much, but I am just sooo excited about my motivation. First of all, This past 6 weeks has been hard for me. December 15th my lil sister got married and my beautiful angel was supposed to be her flower girl. It was hard to see her get married and to see everyone "aaawww" over the flower girl! So then it was Christmas which is hard not having my girl with me anymore. Then Tuesday, the 29th, was Lincoln's 5th birthday. She died when she was three and I can't imagine what she would look like now. So to move on to my excitement now that I have bummed everyone out!

I got my friend to go to the YMCA with me. My dh gets family membership free through work. I never like to do anything myself, so the first time I went was with my friend. We went twice. Wallked 10 mins the first time and did some strength training, 15 mins the second time and more strength training. Well yesterday she didn't want to go with me so I wasn't going to go. I opened up a fortune cookie I had seen on the table from when dh got chinese. I open it up and it says "Take the first step". That was pure inspiration for me. So I went to the Y all by myself! I am so proud of myself!

The bast part is that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to work out! I don't feel like it is a task, I want to do it! Thanks for reading!

That's so great that you love to work out! I never could make myself do it consistently enough. I have the feeling that when I'm thinner I'll enjoy running, but I'm naturally very hourglassy and to be honest, no sports bra is comfortable enough and my center of gravity is too high. So I run awkwardly and get sore, even though I enjoy the sensation.

I've started playing DDR as my exercise, and I love it. I'll do it every day if I have the time (I teach at a boarding school, so I'm always surrounded by teens who want something from me!) and it's easy to motivate myself because I enjoy it so much. That's the trick, isn't it?

EDIT: I just visited the website you made for your little angel, and I have tears in my eyes. You are so strong to have made it through that. God bless you.

emmyroo,
thank you very much! I miss her with all my heart!

I am not any good at ddr. I have bad knees. I am sure you can burn some major calories doing that. Good luck with your weightloss journey!

What fantastic news that you went by yourself! You don't have to wait for someone to want to go with you Isn't it surprising to find out what we like when we actually try it?! (I was a "Never going to like exercise" person as well)

WTG, that is a wonderful thing to recognize! I always find once I get into the swing of exercising -- once I find something I like and do it two or three times -- I start craving it. I've started to love that dull ache the day after a great workout. And WTG on "taking the first step" by yourself -- That's awesome!!

I remember seeing a post of yours somewhere else around here and I visited your daughter's memorial site then. Her story is so sad, I cannot imagine how going through that must feel. You must be very strong, and you sound like you are dealing with things as well as could be expected!
