Default two weeks and two days???? And now my Dr. has put me on the hot list!

Scawee!

I call it the hot list but actually it's the cancelation list...if there are any cancelations, I am up next to fill the surgery time. It seems like I am going to get a call from the Commissioner on the big red Bat phone or something!

At first I was excited because the woman I met in the pre-op class, we hit it off big time and we have been keeping in touch, was ahead of me on this list and her Jan. 27th date was just bumped up to Monday! My surgery is set for the 4th of Feb and if bumped up, could be the 27th!

I say "At first I was excited" because...I run my own Art Studio and Gallery and can therefore juggle classes around to make the schedule change if necessary. I have talked to my students and they are behind me taking the time off from giving them lessons but now I feel guilty for possibly taking that time off early!

How silly is that?? Man I have a problem! I just can't ask for the things I need without feeling bad?! I am having this surgery and taking the time off anyway, what's the problem with doing all that a week early? Feeling guilty just seems silly...especially since it might not even happen...they didn't say run in and fill the spot created by my friend being bumped up, so I don't think it's going to be a...thing.

So here, let me advise myself... "STOP IT!" There, we'll see if that helps...

Thanks,

Angela

You are so funny! I hope whenever it happens that it's the best time for you and all goes better than expected.

All this is reminding me of the last time I had surgery-2003-hysterectomy for uterine cancer. All went well except for the post-op DVT that put me back in the hospital less than a week after I got out. By the way, we got the cancer very early so I didn't need additional treatment. I really hate looking forward to all this!

Go for my WLS seminar later today...let the games begin!

angela, my surgery was moved up more than 2 weeks because someone caught a cold! i had 3 days notice. but, like you i was MORE THAN READY. sooo, just get your little duckies in a row, make sure you have the stuff you need for when you get home, pack your little hospital survival kit AND GET READY!!!!

it's gonna happen!!!! really and truly.
