Smile new to site and need support

Hi, My name is Michele and I am new to this site. I am a stay at home mother of 4 with very hectic days. Over the past few years, I have gained approx. 50 pounds and I am not sure why... I changed nothing about my eating habits or lifestyle, but the lbs. still came on. I am in the process of trying to lose 50 lbs. and I could really use some support and tips. I am not sure exactly how to navigate the site yet, but I am trying to learn. I would appreciate any help you can offer in getting the best use out of the site. I Can't wait to start dropping the lbs. like so many of you have on here. Wish me luck!!!

Thanks for your message! I really need someone to go through this journey with. I have been needing to lose weight for a few years now, but finally made my mind up to DO IT!!! I hope to lose the 50 lbs. by September, which is when my birthday is. I know it will be a long journey, but I am trying to change my eating habits so I will not gain the weight back. I just started last week (Thursday) and have done really well with staying on my plan. I don't really know any special things to do, but I have cut my calories and fat intake and I am now drinking water instead of cokes all day.... I hope it works. I also bought a treadmill and have been useing it, but I have to work myself up on that. Although I have 4 children from 5-16 and they keep me busy, I have never been one to exercise. Anyway, sorry for the long reply, but I am so anxious to meet people going through the same thing and get new ideas and help as well as friendly conversation.

Hi, Michelle,
I am new here, too. I want to lose about 20 lbs by June. I know it will be a struggle, but at least I have a goal to work towards

Hey Michele -

Have you tried logging what you eat? For me it was quite an eye opener. I use Fitday - it's free. Dailyplate is another place you can set up an account and log online. Even simpler is a notebook where you write down what you eat - or a spreadsheet. Come join us in calorie counters if you want. (check out the stickies - lots of good info there)
