Red face Hi Newbie...

Hi my name is Kendra. I am 29 years old and about 323lbs by my moms scale.
I am a proud mom of 3 beautiful girls, 9, 6, and 1.

I am wanting to lose alot of weight because I just cant handle being overweight anymore. I am just lost at where to start and need a good support system. It is hard because I am a SAHM and full time college student. I will be starting my nursing classes this fall.

Welcome Kendra, I am new to this place as well! I am Alison and I am 30 years old, no children but who knows what the future holds on that one!

I am sure you will find this place a great sense of support to spur you on to losing weight. Nursing Studies sound great and really something to work towards!

Kendra – Welcome! When you have a lot of weight to lose it can be very overwhelming on where to start. The important thing isn’t getting it all right to begin with, but starting with something – even one small thing – and working from there. Ultimately losing weight is a calorie equation of eating less than your body is using for fuel. The biggest factor here is what you are eating, so that is a great place to start. You may want to begin with cutting our all sweetened drinks or stop eating fast food. A lot of it depends on your current eating habits. I went with calorie counting, and one of the best things I did was to use a website to track everything I ate and really see where all my calories were coming from. Then you can start to make choices.

In regard to exercise, it is really the same thing. Don’t think you have to go for hours when you start. Even if you just do a few minutes today, but tomorrow do those few minutes plus a few more you are on the right track. You can do videos at home, you can go out for walks – there are a lot of things you can do. One you might want to check out is Walk Away The Pounds (you will see it referred to around here as WATP).

Other than that, keep coming back here! Please come post on the main thread. Check out the other areas of the forum. There is so much info here and so much support.
