I found you all a couple days ago and decided to join, after all I need all the help I can get. I am a self sabotager. I will look at something and think, "I really shouldn't eat that." and the next thing I know I somehow convinced myself to eat it, and then some!

I really need to stop this, it is driving me nuts and my weight up. Actually I put my foot dow a little while ago. 220 is the heaviest I have ever been, I have halted the gaining trend and now I just need to work on loosing. I am the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding and desperately want to look good.

So any of you with extra , sprinkle some this way.

Hey Bubbly -

Good for you on halting the gaining...being in a wedding can be a strong motivator.

What sort of plan are you on? We have forums for just about all of the major plans here, so look around. You can also post by age group, or in any of our miscellaneous clubs.

If you really want to push yourself, you might consider joining one of our "Chicks Up for a Challege" groups...joining and participating in a challenge can really give you an extra push.

Whatever you decide, stick around! Can't wait to get to know you better!

Hi Bubblygoodness,

If you want I'd like to join you in a weight loss journey. About three years ago I was able to lose about 40 lbs using this site as my foundation. It was awesome. I looked the best I ever looked and I was able to do things that I hadn't done since my college days. Once I lost the weight I received a lot of attention related to my body - it made me very uncomfortable and I started eating again. I've thought a lot about that and I think I'm ready to lose again and this time deal with the reaction.

Here's what worked for me and if you want to do it together - it might help.
1. I counted calories daily. Online I found out how many calories I needed for the weight I wanted to be which was about 1800 a day - I gave myself up to 2,000 at the start. When you start counting calories you start wanting healthy, long lasting food for your body.

2. I logged in daily and reported to my 3FATChick friends what I ate, any exercise and any problems. Together we problem solved - it was great.

3. Some things that helped me were the following:
drinking low-fat yogurt fruit smoothies often (fill you up with healthy ingredients)
sugar less chewing gum when I was desiring snacks, etc.
healthy snacks always available

If you'd like to try this with me, I'd love the company. I weigh about 210-220 and I'm wearing a size 20 right now. When I lost the weight I was down to an 10-12, I completed a triathlon and climbed a high mountain. I want that again. You sound like the kind of person who can do this. Let me know if you want to join forces. Others can join too. We need a name such "Beautiful Beach Girls 2008." I'll check back soon. Thanks for considering.

Hey bubbly....im in the same situation as you....my best friend is just asked me to be her maid of honor and i went on the scale yesturday and saw that i weighed 325 lbs!!!!! the biggest ever!!!! and i almost cried....but i was reading a magazine and a woman said that this was a helpful site....so i took a look and it seems to be full of support and friends who can help....So if you ever need someone to talk to or help you off the ledge im a fun person to talk to....any way good luck....hope it all works out!!!!!!!

Hi, do you want to join my "Beautiful Beach Girls 2008" check in site - see the link just about this thread. We can check in daily w/intake, exercise and problems. It's really, really helpful. In fact the thought that I had to check in today made me go to the gym this morning. I'll look for you there - hope to see you and all you soon-to-be-bridesmaids and everyone else. WE CAN DO IT!
