Default Gym or Meetings????????

Here is my first dilema... There is a new WW meeting starting near my home in the evenings. I may actually be able to attend, if I can find somewhere to put my son. We also have a fitness center in my area. Which one do I join?

Last year I was a member of the fitness center because there were not any meetings available to me. Now I can do one or the other. I am leaning towards joining the fitness center again because of the exercise opportunities; machines, pool, etc... I have this website to help me with motiviation so maybe I don't need the meetings.

What to do, what to do?

I think it's about knowing yourself. I know meetings are not helpful to me and it would be a waste of money to pay for them. This website is more than enough support for me. There is the other side of it also. The meetings may be what you need and you can always exercise at home. This decision is very individualized.

Not that I am recommending one over the other, but there are some gyms that have baby sitting services for a small charge. Mine is like $2/hr. But it really depends on which one will motivate you the best, because in the end that is what counts!

If it were me with this dilemma, I'd choose the gym. 3FC is a great place for support, questions, setting goals, etc. A gym has so much too offer and, as wwpoohbear mentioned, many have babysitting services as well.

I too, had this problem, but I chose the gym.
I felt that I had gone to WW so many times that I knew the program, had all the books, calculator, etc. And I really did not get that much support from the WW croup. Not to mention that this site is great and gives me all the everyday support I need not just an hour or so a week..
I use the local gym at the rec centre that costs $270 per year and WW would cost me $936. At the gym, I have meet people there with the same goal, most trying to lose weight and get healthy, I sort of figured that it was no good losing the weight just to die of heart attack because I was unfit.
Not much fun being a skinny corpse.
I wish you luck whichever decide.
