I ate a cookie, and some ice cream and then I ate some more cookies. What is wrong with me? I was doing good, eating well, going to the gym,. This is so hard, why can't it be easier?
I can envision myself skinny but sometimes I forget this when I'm reaching for the cookie jar
Better luck for me tomorrow
Some tough love here - tomorrow's success has very little to do with luck, and everything to do with planning, commitment and determination. Plan your eating tomorrow, stick to your plan, and let today go. It is done, it is finished, it can't be changed. Learn from it, and tomorrow WILL be a better POP day!
YOU can do this! You CAN do this! You can DO this! You can do THIS!
Now. Get the *&^#)$&)*^%)* ice cream and cookies out of the house! You can't eat what isn't there! Seriously... If your "will power" isn't working, those foods will have to go, at least temporarily.
Look, there are times when we have iron willpower...where we can pass by the plate of cookies and not give them another glance. Those times typically come when we're happy, non-hormonal, and have been on plan for a while. In those times...sure, keep it around.
There are times where that won't work. LIKE NOW! Get rid of the junk, plan your healthy day tomorrow, and move on!
Get rid of it! Rid of it all! Unless you're in a situation where people you live with are the ones that brought it in, in that case have them hide it and not tell you where it is. :P
You don't burn extra calories from beating yourself up over some cookies and ice cream.
Everyone else's suggestions to remove said junk food from your house really is the best scenario, but I'm not assuming you brought them into your home to begin with. There have been too many times that I've been in situations with well-meaning family, friends and co-workers bearing cookies. On the bright side, I bet that saying "no thank you" and waving away cookies actually does burn some sweet calories.
My advice is to actually bring small amounts of low-calorie/low-carb or low-fat ice cream and/or cookies into the home (or office). I don't think it's a great idea to eat diet treats all the time, but sometimes it's easier for me to pass up a cookie at work if I know that I've got some sugarless candy to indulge in.
Being able to substitute relatively healthy versions of favorite foods is a huge step from being on a diet towards making a meaningful lifestyle change that will help you maintain your goal weight when you get there.
Don't get mad. It's life - there will be cookies and ice cream. How much and what kind are aspects that you can control.
Thank you everyone. I was the one who brought them into the house thinking I was OK with them, but I guess nnot. I need to plan like was mentioned and stick with my plan for that day.
