Has anyone tried the new drug Janumet? I have been on Glucophage for years with great success (I went from 180 to 135). Well for some reason the Glucophage just quit working....the new Endo I am seeing said that this was common, that after a few years it isn't as effective. So my weight has gone back up to 170 lbs, I have been on Janumet about three weeks now and my weight has not moved....not even a pound. Has anyone had any success with Janumet? I need some hope

I'm sorry, I'd love to be able to give you some hope, but I haven't heard of Janumet.

It's my understanding it is Metformin and Januvia combined and I thought it was still experimental.

I just heard about it for the first time yesterday so I also know not alot about it there is a website of the same name but it doesn't give you alot of info. But keep us updated on how it works for you.

Well I have been on Janumet since December 9th and I have yet to drop a pound. I have IR/PCOS and like I said in the above post, I had GREAT results with Gluchophage...but this drug isn't giving me the weight loss I was hoping for. My doctor suggested maybe I start on Byetta (sp?), but I am not sure about the shots right now. Weird thing though, I ask my new Endo about being put on Aldactone (I have been on that for at least 7 years) and he said it was a "wussy" drug. I think I need a new Endo...
