Default Feeeling Confident!!

Hi Everyone

I just recently found this site, and it's really great! I feel inspired to contribute, as I can really empathise with all your comments.

Just a quick background on me. I have been a yo yo dieter since I was about 18. I have tried all sorts of diets, but I have found WW to be the most sustainable. However, occasionally, in 'emergencies', for special occasions etc, I have done Atkins. I generally get good results, however once I reintroduce carbs, I literally balloon.

My most recent encounter with Atkins is defintately the last! After spending 3 weeks faithfully doing Induction, I fell off the wagon. In the space of a day and a half, I gained a staggering 11 pounds!! I still cant figure out how it was possible - unfortunatley my scales are in perfect working order.

Anyway, tonight I am returning to my WW class. I am a little embarassed, as I have gained rather a lot since I was last there, but I am relieved to be doing something about it. I know the programme works if I am patient, and I feel confident I will get a good result.

At the moment my weight is consuming all my thoughts. I want to feel good about myself again.

I would love to loose 28 pounds. I am aiming for 14 pounds in the first 6 weeks. I'm not big on exercise, but intend to walk at least 4 miles daily, hopefully this will get everything moving! I will keep you posted!! I look forward to your support.

Hey Cait, and

It is impossible to gain (or lose!) 11 lbs of fat in a short time period. Most likely, your original losses in Induction were -mostly- water, and anything you gained back was -mostly- water. Our bodies just don't put on or take off fat that quickly.

Anyway - have you visited our Weight Watchers forum yet? We have forums for those on both Flex and Core, so you can find people on the same plan you are no matter which it is. Check it out!

Can't wait to see you around! Keep posting!

Hi Cait - welcome to 3FC!!! These ladies are awesome and oh so supportive; it's like another online fam hahaha! Persistence WILL pay off, and besides, slow is good, cause they say if you lose too quickly you will be more apt to gain it back - yikes! Good luck to you and looking forward to taking this journey with you!
