My 19 year old Daughter is in the Navy, stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. We were expecting her home on leave, January 15th. We bought an artificial tree this year so we could leave the house decorated and celebrate Christmas again with her in January. I even had a countdown on my computer, counting down the days till she arrived.
We got the phone call last night from Erica telling us that her leave is cancelled and she doesn't know when she'll be able to come home. We didn't get to spend last Christmas together because she was in boot camp. I don't want to whine, and I know this is how life is with the NAVY, but it still really hurts.
I guess I just wanted to vent a little. Thanks. Lisa
sorry to hear that. I know that must be rough for both you and her. But thank her from all of us for serving her country.
You could try to see if she has a computer/camera at work and you can do the same so you guys can talk and see each other on christmas. I know alot of the miltary computers have restrictions but see what she has. Good luck!
Lisa, Vent away! I'm sorry to hear that you won't be seeing her over the holidays. I can only imagine how disappointed you both must be. Thank you and her for the service she is doing for our country.

My son is in the Army so I have been there, done that. It's horrible to miss the special days for sure. Hopefully she will be able to make it home soon.
