Morning Lauren... LOL at your early wake time. Man, I don't miss those days! My little one will be 5 next month and all three sleep like rocks once their heads hit the pillow. Knock on wood... Has the novelty of having their own beds worn off and are the boys back to piling in with you and DH?

It's been icy here and that has made it difficult to get my daily walk in. Last night though I made up for it as I took a really long (multiple evil hills:-) walk. Man, it felt so good to get some fresh air and exercise. The scale is holding steady and isn't moving forward or backward. I'm ok with that this month....

Talk to everyone later ~ Joan

I'm back and caffeinated!

Joan, Actually Peter, who will also be 5 next month, usually sleeps in, but he's all schnotty these days and although the humidifier is running in their room, he must've woke up miserable. I only let him stay because Scooch was already in bed with me! Yeah, the novelty wore off quickly for Robby, lasted about a week. I think it's a phase though, he won't go to sleep either!

GG, that sucks, hope you got to go back to sleep for a bit!

Good Morning All!!!

The weather is terrible here today. Currently in the 30's and raining supposed to turn to snow later. Of course I have to go food shopping cannot wait another day. I hate to take the baby out in this but I guess I better go before the snow starts.

Lauren...DH husband laughed when I told him you asked if he was competitive. On our honeymoon we were in Jamaica in the middle of hurricaine season. One day it was raining so we sat on the patio playing pool and board games etc. I was beating him in everything so he took a board game and threw it across the patio. Of course he remembers it differently...lol. Anyway he is willing to take on the challenge. He wants to wait until the new year but I told him i just don't have that kind of time. We are going to work out the details and hopefully start on Monday. I have to figure out what I want if I win. Wait a minute I mean WHEN I win!!!

joan: great job on the walk..hills are good even though we hate them...keep up the great work

tjjsmom: its cold here too..its 29 right now...too cold for my blood..its driving me crazy...i bundle up every time i go out..i just dont have many of those kinds of clothes...stay warm...and WHEN you beat him...i hope you have decided on something good!

gg: its hard sometimes being in a different time zone for a short period of time..its like your body never gets acclimated...good job working out in their gym though..thats great cause i think i would have skipped it...good job!

well all...gotta go find a big sweater and jacket to wear today...its supposed to be this cold until like monday..uugghh...i think its bad cause im not used to anythign like this...i mean it was reportedly lightly snowing yesterday about 1/2 hour away from me...i mean i dont think its snowed here in like 10 years..and that was for like an inch..lasted a day and melted...oh well...hope everyone does well today..have a great one!

TJ, It started sleeting/hail around 10-ish, but it's been snowing for a good 40 minutes or so now! Hopefully it'll stay rain down there. Then again, that means ice if it gets cold. Oh well, I guess we're just screwed! Your DH will not be laughing when you beat his behind!!

I don't think I'm going to the company holiday party tonight. I don't think most of the company is going! My boss lives SW of here and he left about an hour ago because his kids' school closed. He called us and said not to feel obligated to stay at work, or go to the party. DH's party is Saturday night and I am starting to wonder if we'll make it to that one either!

Christina, stay warm chickie!!

Hey all...

Up to my elbows in cookies, will post some pics this weekend. Am having my cookie exhcange tomorrow night, so am also trying to decorate/set up the house. Lots of lights and table decorations. My girlfriend is a professional decorator and came last year to do it for me. My house looked beautiful, and everyone commented on it. Well, she has a full time job now, and I'm not even going to ask her to help. Needless to say, it's not going to look anything like it did last year. Oh, well. She'll be here for the party, so I'll do my best!!

Have a wonderful day all. Will def. try to catch up with everyone next week.

Pam

Lauren.... it is just about 3pm here and it is a light rain. What they are saying now is that is will ice over tonight so black ice in the morning. I never made it to Shoprite one of my close friends died last night so I was making phone calls etc. We are supposed to be taking the kids to Chucki Cheeses tonight so I guess I will have to run in for a few things then.

Christina... I own two coats but never wear them. They laugh at me at work when I do they say I know its cold outside if Tamia has a coat on...lol.

pmasci... sounds lovely. I wish my house were big enough to do something like that. We are baking cookies at my mothers house on Sunday but I will just be putting them in a tin and going home...lol.

Kiddies are settled with snack and the boob tube ...

I have baked all day long. I made 4 different kinds of cookies and then near the end I decided to bake a pan of "magic bars." You can't them. They're easy and so delicious. My sister-in-law is from Switzerland and she brought us 4 or 5 bars of chocolate a while back; hazelnut chocolate, bittersweet, dark chocolate, etc., etc... It's fantastic stuff but you can't eat much as it is incredibly sweet. I didn't want to waste it so I dumped it on top of the magic bars. OH MY! I cut off one bar to taste (then cut off a second one) and then froze all of the rest! I'd been so busy baking that all I'd eaten today was yogurt for breakfast and some cut up apples for lunch. Those bars made up for it though LOL.

Joan, what did the DR. say about you quitting the Accutane? Seems like you are feeling better?

Hanna, where are you?

Lauren, you ever try the DD coffee at home? Just wondering if its any good.

TJ, sorry about your friend.

I hope everyone is keeping warm and safe in this nasty weather. Talk later,
Alicia

Alicia ~ thanks for asking about the dr. visit ~ what a thoughtful bunch...
Dr. visit went much better than expected. He didn't chastize me like I thought that he would. Instead, he surprised me by saying that he completely understood as he's had other patients that weren't able to take it as long as I had. He prescribed an antibiotic for me to take (along with Vitamin A) and I'm to see him in a month. The kicker is that this is exactly where I was prior to taking Accutane. He says that if this doesn't work (I know that it will work; been there, done that. The problem always comes back though as soon as I'm off of the antibiotic) he is going to "play around with my hormones." ??? Not sure what he meant by that; other than possibly putting me on B.C. pills. Been there, done that too and I'm not doing it again.

So, regarding the sister-in-law... Alicia you are not being selfish at all. You are sounding like a rational, responsible person ~ you have doubts about this person so why would you want her in your home and around your children? I don't blame you at all for feeling the way that you do.

ARGH...just lost my post!!

In brief...

Joan, hope the skin stays clear.

Alicia, yes, and it's very good, but not quite the same as at DD.

Tamia, sorry about your friend. Was it sudden? We got freezing rain after an inch or so of snow. Now everything's covered in ice.

Work did let us go at 12:30, and rescheduled the party to 1/3.

Pam, Can't wait to see pics of the cookies/house!

I know this is a late post, but what the heck. I have so much stuff to do before I leave, I know I probably shouldn't be on my computer....

Joan, I am not sure I understand what you are on the antibiotics for. I do know that for my arms I was using a topical at first but as soon as it cleared it would come back. Very frustrating. Do the antibiotics clear up your skin?

Lisa, I hope you are surviving these last few weeks of Christmas. Hang in there girl. Does your store become dead in Jan? I read about you helping your Dad with his shopping, how sweet. You know my DD is just 12 but I point out stuff to her that I would like to have....thinking she could help DH. She's my only hope, LOL!

Pam, I haven't heard of these cookie parties before. I am sure they are fun. As for me, it would not be a good idea as cookies are my weakness.

Well, I got Christmas presents today for my employee and her cats. I will definately miss them. It is a good job when you don't feel like your working, huh?

I can't decide yet if I'm gonna leave tomorrow or Saturday. If I leave tomorrow, I have a TON of things to get done. Plus, I have come to find out that I should not be driving at night. Last time I was driving late I really didn't know if I would make it or not, I got so tired. The bad thing though is if I leave Sat morning, it may be snowing here. So I don't know yet what I am going to do.

I hope everyone has a good Friday. I'll check back tomorrow...at a decent hour.

Alicia
