Default Hi - I'm new!

Hi Guys!

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Shannon and I'm from Calgary, Canada. I'm 24 and I'm a corporate training specialist. Basically I travel throught Alberta, B.C. and Ontario teaching people how to use audio visual equipment (such as smart boards and video conferencing equipment.)

A bit about my weight history. I had never been tiny growing but was usually at the higher end of the acceptable weight for my age/height. I put on about 30lbs in my first year of university (the cafeteria did me in!) I managed to lose all the wieght I had put on and more over that summer. My weight flucuated by about 5-8 lbs over the next few years. In 2006 I spent 6 months volunteering in central america. A few to many cervezas and pollo fritos latter I had put on 20lbs. I lost most of the wieght on Jenny Craig but as soon as I went off the JC food I gained it all and more back. I'm now 5'2" and 145lbs.

I'm excerising 5 days a week, but I'm having a hard time getting my eating under control. I eat really health at breakfast and lunch but start snacking like mad when I get home. I'm on the road so much I tend to eat out alot!

I'm looking forward to geeting some support and motivation from you all and just planning getting to know you. I've been lurking for a few weeks and you seem like a pretty cool group.

Shan

Hi Shantroy,
I hope that you find all the support you need or want here! I've only been a member for about a month and i love it. Breakfast and lunch are a good start, you should try to have snack inbetween the two, like a cliff bar *be carful which one you eat; chocolate chip vs cranapple* or a piece of fruit! then try to have a good snack after lunch to tie you over until dinner. You could also have some tea *hot is great* or water to fill in between! Good luck and keep posting!

Welcome Shannon - I'm newish here too, but already loving talking with people, especially about the little nagging problems with weight loss - there's always a sympathizer! For example I have the early evening thing, too. Once it starts, it doesn't stop until bed time. But I really don't do anything well at that time of day, so usually when I accept this and just ride it through, I can stay on track. That's just me...
The volunteering sounds awesome - I bet it was completely worth it despite the weight gain!

ah, yes, the night snacking. I know it well. What do we do to get over it? I, too, will go all day long without over eating, I'll have a good healthy Breakfast and Lunch, then as soon as I get home from work I eat myself sick What's a girl to do... You know what, that's a good idea for a thread (I think I'll make one). Anyway, welcome and I know you'll find the support you need here! Good luck on your journey

I've been on the road for the last few days, so I haven't had time to pop in here and say hi lately. Thanks for all your hellos. I'm really looking forward to getting to know around everyone around here.

Summer I'm gonna go check out your thread about the dreaded night time snacking.
