Default I Need Help! Cant Get Back On Track!!!

Hey everyone. I am needing some serious help. I dont know if I need a butt chewing or support or both. I started "dieting" Aug 05. Got to 160lbs and then SLOWLY went to 174, well that was June 07, so not bad considering. I started ALLI and got to 168..woohoo. In Aug 07 I took my kids on a 3 day weekend and ever since then I JUST CANT seem to get my head in the game and I have climbed back to the 177 (ish) range. I have been able to keep the scale from showing 180, but man.....

SO GIRLS/GUYS I NEED HELP!!!!!! WHAT CAN I DO?!?!?!

When my motivation is lagging, I read the stories of people from 3FC who have reached goal. Very inspiring.

I also do bathing suit photos with my friend - knowing that the photos will happen on X date help me to keep my eyes on the prize.

What methods did you use successfully in the past? What plan are you attempting to get re-started on now? Are you working out? I am always more motivated to eat well if I am working out - don't want to undo all that exercise!

Are you still on Alli? Get back on it if it helped you, and don't get off it until you lose some significant weight.

I agree with Janie... go to the Goal forum and read people's stories. You know that one day, you want to post yours there as well!

And remember to tell yourself, "Hey! At least I'm not 215 pounds anymore!" You want to make sure you never get there again, now don't you?

Also remember... everyone falls off plan every now and then. Start where you left off and work your way down.

Hey! Yes, read the Goals and Mini-Goals--lots of good stories there for inspiration.

On the "tough love" side of things, I'll just say that the day may come, and I hope it comes sooner for you rather than later, when losing the weight and keeping it off will be more important to you than the instant gratification of being able to eat whatever tasty item has just caught your fancy.

And when it does, you'll settle down to getting rid of the foods you can't stop eating and coming up with a plan--whether it's joining Weight Watchers, trying Sugarbusters or South Beach, or just simple calorie counting. You'll get your head in the game, so to speak, and stop pretending there's no tomorrow.

As I said, I hope it's sooner rather than later! Because only you can do this.

Keep trying, and start doing!

Jay

jaye has good advice.
i think you have to REALLY want to diet for it to a) work and b) stick to it.
i find it incredibly difficult to stay on track when i have anything stressfull going on. i find it hard to find the motivation. But i also, as u do, know how AMAZING it feels to look down at the scales and be like, wow not eating that choc bar really has made a huge difference and im not a pound lighter.

i dont think anyone could ever push me into dieting, or any advice i could give u could really make u re-start. but u just need to find somthing in your mind that u can focuss on, or that really speaks to you to inspire you. for me its reaching a goal by christmas, cause i can sit at the dinner table in a nice dress or skirt, and feel proud.

diarys can help, blogging, photos, clothes, ect, and im sure u know that.
just remeber to kick start a diet, u need to shake up your metabolism, exercise in a different way to normall (or more intense) and drink water. (sorry im getting preachy)
good luck, and if u ever need any help were always about :-)

Wink

When I need some motivation I find some pictures of myself when I was at a weight I was happy with and I feel like I look smokin' hot. I think back to how it felt, how good it felt to have all my clothes fitting comfortably and how good it feels to feel good about how you look. (sigh) I'm think about it right now and it's making me feel like eating good all day - see? It works!

When I`m really down and lacking motivation I read rockinrobin`s story, I even printed it and carry it around! It`s so so so amazing and it makes me think "I can do it too".

Thanks everyone. I can feel I am getting back slowly. I just needed to see what other people do. I know most of my problem right now is stress and time. I never have time to make healthier food so lately (for lunch mostly) I am just grabbing something, usually soup or a sandwhich and I know I need to be eating healthier. I used nutrisystem when I first started "dieting" to learn portion control and that helped a LOT!!!

Thanks for all your advice!!!

a little late but I want to add : make baby steps
ever since i put the mini goal ticker in I feel like every lbs towards 5 is a great thing and it keeps me motivated
the big slider hardly moves so i lose intrest
i also am salivating to get my 15lb chiky sticker - crazy but it means a lot to me! i am a very rewards person, so i get myself something small I want - like a parfume for bigger goals, and maybe a new lipstick i have wanted to try or car wash or something I would have done myself - as long as it is not food i think the rewards are great!
