Default Portable Electronic Calorie Counters

I was searching in Yahoo and Ebay when I ran across a few portable electronic calorie counters. If you have one, how do you like it? I think it would be a great thing to have. I've tried many journal like calorie counters but always get hung up at having to sit at my computer at the end of each day or trying to log and add up calories by hand.

I feel the same way -- I can see one to order for about $79 I think if I order it and use it like I would want to it could work. The calories are what keep me thinking not the scales. I hope someone here has first hand knowledge, but I have spent far more than $79 on other not so smart weight loss tricks.

I use a portable system, calorie king book, a little notebook and a calculator lol. Hey it works! I've seen several of them and they look pretty sweet, I have to admit. I'd buy one but I know I won't ever use it.

I use something like that - Calorie King software for my palm pilot. I love it, swear by it, couldn't have come this far without it! It makes it very easy to plan my meals ahead and play with changing ingredients and amounts. It does all the math for me. With paper and pencil, you try to make a couple of changes and everything has to be recalculated and you've got a big mess on the page. (At least that's how it seems to me, but I like techno-gadgetry.)

CK also has a huge database with nearly every product out there, and easy ways to add custom stuff. I know I sound like a troll, but seriously, it's what worked for me!

It would be cool to have a portable calorie counter. It does get annoying sometimes having to turn on my laptop and waiting for everything to load to track my calories. Lucky for me though I'm on the internet almost all day!
However, the portable device would have to have internet access because sometimes the foods you want to add are not in the database and have to be found on a website. I think the only time I would use one though would be just logging into my existing calorie counter through a Blackberry or cell phone with internet. Then you can do it portably or on the computer!
