Default Hi everyone! new from south america

Hi everyone

Well, my name is Rocio, im 23 years old, i live in south america. Im 154cm height (around 5feet 1 inch) and im currently weighing around 65kg (around 145 pounds).

I thought of introducing myself to 3FC although i have been reading all kind of threats for the past 10 days.
I have written down and cut down on my calories since then. This site and forum were great help and motivation. So thanks =). Now I take veggies for lunch at work, eats 3 fruits a day beteween meals.
However i find very hard to know the size of my portions, 100g seems so little I must practice some more on that.

Like i mentioned i have been reading several threats in this forum and i found it to be really motivating for my weight loss, my goal is to reach 53kg (around 119 pounds) and stay at that weight! =D

here comes general stuff about my eating habits, daily routine, why i want to do this. Its not important but i guess it can always help me to keep in mind some motivation.

- Despise i only have to drop down some pounds i found myself to be very high ABOVE average weight for someone of my same age. So much that i cant find jeans size for me in any store, i am considered to be heavy overweight. Same whit shirts.

- I have always been a chubby child. Whit a very crappy self image, even worst during my teens years. I guess it is time to change that.

- My body always keeps me from doing activities because all i can think of is a fat chick looking like a clown doing any sport, dancing or even standing. Again, it is time to change this!

- i have never worried about how many calories or fat my meals had i must incorporate more veggies into my daily intake and not just only rice, pasta, cheese, fried food and meat. As you can see veggies and fruits were out of radiar lol.

- However i completly refuse myself to be one of those girls that CANT enjoy pizza with friends or any social activity with food because it has too many calories, they live on diet forever, thats not mentally healthy, i considered to be an eating disorder as well.

- I never put on weight .... however i never loss the extra weight (always chubby) until i quitted smoking (thats when i put on 5 kg or 11 pounds) and they show so very badly specially on my face

- I dont drink sugary drinks or alcoholics drinks. Never had actually.

- Physical activities are out of my radiar. I even have an office job in which i dont even have to stand up to files papers.

Hi!!! I read "new from south america" and inmediatly came to read your introduction. Iīm from Chile.. what part of South America are you from?

Well I read your story and some of the things you say fit perfectly to me too. Finding clothes is so difficult. We donīt have XXL here. People in 3fc usually complain how overpriced and unpretty big size clothes are, but at least they have.. although i hope not to have that problem in a couple of months.

Cutting your calories is a great start. How many calories are you eating daily?

I also get the "hate exercise" part. I donīt hate it, but it seems here we have less overweight people or they just donīt go to the gym because I feel so so so BIG there. But I know I have to do it anyway, so I do it.

Ahhh I used to have problem with the "portion" part too. I got this great digital scale for the kitchen (I didnīt have one) and I know exactly what Iīm eating and how much.

Hi, im from Argentina =)

According to etools i need around 1700 calories a day. Actually, this vary a lot from one site to another 1800 ... 1600 ... So try to keep it around 1000 or 1100 a day.

Im also trying counting WW points, so currently im doing both thing until i decide which one is more suitable for me but it is pretty useles since i cant tell the size of my meals. I read about the deck of cards and tennis balls sizes but i havent get use to that yet. So yeah, i want of getting a scale

Welcome, Rocio!

Wow! I've never considered that finding clothes in XL or above would be difficult! Rafaella's right. We may not like the plus size clothing but you can always find it, at least. Now that I'm not in plus size anymore, it seems like it's all over the place.

I find a scale invaluable. Without a scale, I really tend to overestimate how much food I should get, especially on meat.

Welcome again. Look around and post anywhere you like. There are lots of wonderful threads.

(By the way, you both write in English so well. I wish my Spanish were half as good.)
