I'm re-posting this here because I posted it as a reply in stead of new thread, the only threads I know are in my quilting, I really have to get used to this computer stuff.
Hi everyone,
I,m 45 year old mom of 3, children 27,22,&13 Just got married for a second time in Aug I re-joined ww last Tues. and am so glad I found this site, I have been reading for the past week and decided to start posting. I look forward to meeting new friends and trying to offer support if I'm able. I'm still trying to figure out the site ,so please be patient with me if I mess up.
I also have a couple of questions, does anyone know what the wendie plan is? I read it on one of the turtle pages.
Also I have a big problem with Tim Hortons coffee, I'm addicted to it and at 6pts ,(I like my cream and sugar) I really need to find a replacement ,I have only 1 in the morning now for the past 10 days thats down from 2,3 and sometimes maybe even 4 a day. I know it sounds awful, but somehow I got into this habit and need to get out...HELP.... I have tried it with milk and sweetener and it's just not the same I really have to just replace it with something else, does anyone have a suggestion please?
Hope you all have a super day
I'm not sure of a good alternative to coffee. Coffee in and of itself is not that bad for you... maybe you can use lowfat cream and a sugar substitute?
You just need to start drinking a little less coffee and weaning yourself off of it slowly. If you suddenly stop drinking coffee, you will most likely get a massive headache. Just drink less, then drink water and chew gum so you won't be as tempted. If you need energy, eat a snack and/or go for a power walk if you can.
I don't know whether this suggestion will be any good--but I got off my half 'n' half habit by switching to Coffee Mate Lite. No, it is not the same, but you can get used to it. You'll be glad you did! Before that I gave up sugar in my coffee, period. No artifical sweetener, either. You can get used to that, too.
Hi and WELCOME to 3FC. We've got lots in common! I've got 3 kids as well, and I'll be turning 44 in November. Congratulations on your recent marriage.
I'm really glad you found this site. It's been a very important part of my weight loss journey and I know it will continue to play a vital role now that I am in maintenance.
I like my coffee, too. I have managed, over time, to learn to enjoy it with 1%milk in it. I had to do this gradually. I still don't like skim milk in coffee, so I buy a pint of 1% just to use in my coffee. I also don't like decaffinated coffee, but I have found that the Starbucks brand, made plenty strong is acceptable.
And, I agree, don't quit coffee cold turkey, because you will get a world-class headache.
Thank you so much,
I went to the store to buy coffee mate lite, as Jay suggested and ended up with something even better, it's not tim hortons but it sure is good. It's a liquid coffee mate (fat free) and french vanilla, it even sweetens your coffee, I put 4 Tbsps. and counted it as 2 points.Mmmmmmm I needed milk and just happened to see it in the dairy.
Thanks also to Robin for the link, sounds interesting. I also read your story , you go girl...WOW you have done some amazing changes in your life, I hope I can as well, it's only been 10 days and I already feel better.
Well again thanks all, I'll keep you posted on my coffee issue, I still think it will be better if I get off it completly as you have all said slowly, to avoid headaches.
Have a great day
Aftr having given up coffee for years, I found it made NO difference in my weight loss or maintenance. I only have one big mug in the morning and I use one tiny portion-pack of 1/2 and 1/2 (10 calories) and a tablespoon of almond milk which adds a little sweetness.
I think I'd have a much bigger problem with walking into Tim Horton's on a regular basis!
Thanks Mel,
Oh ,I tell you it's like Tim hortons capital here in Ontario, every darn corner. It's ridiculous really , I drive past 4 just to get to work and it's only 10 mins. away, not only that everyone drinks the stuff. I'm finding it so hard, I wish I never ever had that first years ago, I swear they put some drug in it.
