I am loving this weather, cool and crisp. And I'm sleeping so much better now, too.
I had a long day at Cindy's yesterday. She had a bad fall off her horse and separated her shoulder. Richard is out-of-town this week, and she's all doped up on pain killers, so I went over to take care of her and tend the girls all day. Her mother came and spent the night with them last night, and will take the girls to school this morning and take Cindy to her house for the day, and I'll be in charge of the girls. This is really going to be hard on Cindy, since she's a real workaholic and can't sit still for long. Come to think of it, maybe it's going to be a hard week for all of us.
I'm off to Curves soon, and plan to stop in and have a coffee with Mom & Dad on the way home.
Separated shoulder?? ouch ouch ouch!! I hope she is better soon. Not fun being laid up with kids to take care of.
I'm off to work in a bit and then have to stop to go shopping on the way home this afternoon. Trying to find a dressy pants outfit to wear to a rehearsal dinner in a couple of weeks. Found a great dress for the wedding though. Tres 1960's...and a beaded black shawl to go over it.
I was thinking about trying to see how laughing cow cheese with herbs added would work as a "stuffing" for chicken (flatten chicken and roll it around the cheese then season and bake) will let you know how it works.
Good morning, Cottage. I hope Cindy makes a fast recovery but that shoulder separation is no fun.
Outside it's brilliantly starry and very cold at freezing point and Hersh is snuggled in her bed again after potty and breakfast. I think she's campaigning for a fire in the woodstove but I'm trying to hold out until later in the month. Time to dig out winter clothes, I guess.
Mount Laundry is finally just a wee foothill which I plan to tackle before I go to quilting class this morning. Yesterday was a bad day for me for many reasons but today is going to be a winner. After class, I am going out to lunch with a new friend and then we are going to hit a fabulous quilt shop. This quilting thing is addictive!
I hope your day is as brilliant as this morning's stars.
Hi Cat. We were posting at the same time. Sixties dresses? I should let you into the trunk in storage. I think I even have a beaded black shawl. Let us know how the chicken turns out.

My daughter would have a field day in that trunk!! I took some pics of the dress the other day to send to my Mom. (Best thing about it is that it was 150 on sale for 50..gotta love a good sale!) The precious model of the shawl is my youngest son's girlfriend.

Cat, you're going to look smashing in that dress and shawl! I've made the chicken with the onion herbed Laughing Cow, and it's delicious. I put a roasted red pepper and a little spinach in there, too, before I roll it up. Then I quickly brown the chicken in a saute pan sprayed with olive oil Pam, and finish it off in the oven.
Ruth, one day I'm going to learn to quilt. It sounds so cozy and a satisfying way to spend the day. I do hope your day is better today than yesterday.
Stopped at Mom's, but they were on their way out the door to the casino for the day. I think I'll just putter around here this morning getting little niggles done.

Oh i read your post but not quite right lol. I am looking at the pics and thinking. That is her youngest son? Darn but that looks like a girl lol. Nice dress and shaw.
Cottage - ouch on Cindy's shoulder, that sounds really painful. Good luck dealing with that this week and have a good day getting things done around the house.
Femmecreole - I love the dress and shawl! The chicken sounds really good...yum!
Ruth - You are such a wonderful writer...your post made me feel all warm and cozy. I would love to learn to quilt. I crochet, but something about quilting must be so satisfying.
Shy - your statement cracked me up
Me - today is crazy busy for me--I have got to straighten up and get some stuff done here at work. I am going to post a separate post about eating...something inside me clicked or rather gurgled and spud out! LOL!
Good Morning Chicks! Dreary day hear although the rain is supposed to be on its way out.
Cottage Hope Cindy is feeling well soon and your week doesn't suffer from it.
Ruth Hope you find some great deals shopping for quilting stuff today. Sounds like a great way to spend time with a friend!
Cat That shawl is beautiful! You are going to look great!
Me Not much going on, have to find a shop to look at my car today. Thought is was a sparkplug but that didn't fix it. DH (and that isn't darling at the moment) thinks the answer is to get rid of it. As much as I would like a new car, this one is paid off in may! Cross your fingers it is just minor!
Hope everyone has a great day and willpower dust to all!
Sunny
Haven't you ever read something and your eyes just didn't see it all. I kept looking and looking and then read the post again. Boy was I happy I read it wrong. While that is a pretty girl, wasn't exactly what a boy should look like lol.
Cottage, separated shoulder? Ow ow ow ow ow. That's why I don't get on horses. I'm accident prone enough as it is. Hopefully she recovers quickly!
Ruthie, I'm sure your stars up there are much more brilliant than ours down here. Hopefully you have a fun time at the quilt shop!
Femme, very cool! I love retro!
Sunny... eeewww. Glad everything came out ok?
Pacer, good luck with the car shopping. I've looked at some cars lately online and just don't see anything I really care for. Rust Bucket still runs (knock wood) but I'm going to have to suck it up and get a car payment at some point. Hopefully I can make it until after Key West in May. Hope you find something soon!
Shy, you're a riot!
Well, suddenly after reading about a separated shoulder, my shoulder has started sympathy pains. I still accidentally pop mine out of place from time to time, but not near as much as I used to. Stupid rotator cuff irregularity. I really need to get in the shower and get to work. Going to be another long day. Hope you girls have a good one! I'll check back later!
Hey everyone! Just a quick post to let you know that I really miss the daily chat and hope to be out of the field soon so that I can catch up with everyone! I'm getting ready to head out now, but am hoping that I will be home by 5 pm. I've got to get groceries and clean the house tonight since DH will be back tomorrow! Busy, busy!
Ugh! It's been one of those days alreay and it's only noon.
Looks like almost everyone has stopped by already, I'm running late today because I had to go for my mammogram this morning. The Dr. who ordered it didn't fax over the orders to the Med Center, so I had to wait while they called, confirmed the order and then faxed it over. I had a ping pong ball sized Phyllodes tumor removed last year, so I'm praying for good news that it isn't back.
I've got to get my work day started, hope everyone is having a great day.
