Default Thanks everyone!

I know im just started but with SIMPLE eating changes not even EXERCISE CHANGES!

Ive gone from 165 to 157, in a matter of days. Grapes and carrots are the difference. I even had cupcake and rootbeer float and beef steak for dinner a couple of those days.

The fruit really kick your metabolism.

So thanks everyone for your help!

I wanna lose down to 145 for sure, which is just BARLY over, maybe 140 or 135 in the long run and keep it there.

That's great! Congratulations on the loss! That's what eating right is all about, you can have what you'd like just in moderation. If you restrict yourself severly you will have a hard time achieving anything. Keep eating healthy and you'll be at your goal in no time!!

Congratulations! That's a great start and I bet it feels wonderful to see results just from making a few changes.

I have a question for you - how many "days" did it take you to drop those 8 pounds? I'm just asking because if you lost 8 pounds in just a few days, that's a bit rare, so if you don't lose another 8 pounds in a just a few days, don't be discouraged. It is normal to lose a lot at first in water weight so you may not lose as quickly from now on. I think it's great that you are trying to lose weight and get healthy, and eating more fruit is definitely a great start. Good luck with the rest of your weight loss!

Great Going!!!!!

What a fantastic start. I'm glad you got such positive results. Although, I agree that you should not be disappointed when those numbers don't repeat themselves. But that's okay. Making better choices, adding in fruits and veggies, keeping those cupcakes and rootbeers to a minimum, adding in some exercise - will definitely, definitely result in weight loss. Keep at it.

I'm going to echo that the rest of the weight won't be as fast, but don't get discouraged over it. What likely happened is that you probably lost some water weight by having less sodium in your diet, which caused the dramatic results at first. By continuing though, you'll continue to lose. Though the pace may be slower, it's still gonna happen.

But Ive been pretty much ALL healthy grapes and bananas, oh yum

I think itll go semi fast till 150 or so, but yes, I do know its gonna come off slow. but still maybe 2 LB a week or so.

Hey!

2 pounds a week is a GOOD rate of loss.

Be sure you are getting enough calories, and a mix of nutrients (proteins, fats, carbs). I would guess that 1500-1600 cals a day would have you losing weight. Try not to go lower than that!

Cheers!

Thanks jay.

Happen to know how much calories is in a box of kraft mac n cheese, TOTAL. not 1 serving.

Because I had half for lunch and half for dinner, just wondering.

Hey! Look on the box--the Nutrition Panel will tell you how many servings are in a box, and all the rest of the information. From that you can figure out how much for the whole box.

One good rule of thumb is to only eat *a serving* of foods like Mac & Cheese, and accompany it with some vegetables, a salad, or maybe some cooked hamburger or a Boca Burger (meatless). Those other foods will give you better nutrition than just the Mac & Cheese by itself.

3FC has some calorie listings in a database--go to the main 3fc page. Or you could try a site like Calorie King (just google it).

There are 3 servings in a box. You might want to consider switching to Kraft Supermac & Cheese. I have both here, because hubby refuses to eat whole wheat products. But Supermac is whole wheat. Here are the differences:

Regular Kraft:
Cals: 260
Fat: 3.5
Sat: 2
Carb: 48
Fiber: 1
Prot: 9

Supermac:
Cals: 200
Fat: 2
Sat: 1
Carb: 39
Fiber: 3
Prot: 7
