Default Tummy Tuck vs. Lower Body Lift

Hi ladies!

So, Monday I finally went for a consultation which went EXTREMELY well. I really liked the doctor and staff, and I didn't die when I saw the quotes (maybe just a minor heart failure ). However, the doctor did suggest a Lower Body Lift might be more suitable for the skin I have left. When he grabbed the skin I had on my ... errr ... backside, I really hadn't thought before that it was THAT bad back there.

So I looked at the photos on his desk, still thinking that my backside doesn't look THAT bad (in denial? lol), and just got the quotes for tummy and breast lift.

Then of course I went home and re-examined myself about eighty three times in the mirror, pulling my skin up on my lower back, etc. I am wondering now that if I get a tummy tuck, will it look strange if I don't do the lower body lift? Will I be unhappy with what I am left with around the back after the front is fixed?

I realize none of you guys can make that decision for me via the internet, lol, but I guess I am just wondering what your thoughts are between the two. Meg, did you always know you were heading straight for a LBL and not just a tummy tuck?

Also, regarding the cost - the cost of the LBL alone equals what both the tummy tuck and breast lift would cost. And he won't do the breast lift during the same surgery as the LBL, which means me going in for a second surgery, and that also makes me apprehensive. More money, more recovery time, etc.

Does EVERY plastic surgeon require it to be done in a separate surgery? This one said it would require me to be under anesthesia too long.

On the other hand, if I know I have to make the decision that I will be happiest with in the end, not just for immediate satisfaction (getting everything taken care of at once, although that is REALLY what I want).

I have another consultation with someone else coming up ... and I am even considering a third. I can't tell you how ecstatic I am that this may actually be a reality in the near future ... this is pretty much all I am thinking about right now! lol

TIA!

Kelly

Kelly,

Just cheering you on! I hope you get all of the information you are looking for.

I am reading a book right now about PS and the doctor in it mentions that he also doesn't do LBL with a breast lift. I'm not sure if that is common or if it is just those two doctors. Just thought I'd mention it though. I'm sure your other consult will answer more of those questions.
