Default DH Thinks I'm Being Silly

to be bothered by my weight since I'm fitting into small sizes. I get his point, but I still want to be lighter.

If only the doctor (or the doc's assistant to be exact) hadn't insisted on weighing me.

At this point I don't know if I should start posting in Maintainers (Because I'm at a healthy weight even though it's on the heavy side.) or Featherweights (Because I want to lose more.) or Chicks In Control (Because of my bad body image).

I think you really need to examine why that particular number means so much. The NUMBER is what's driving you. What does that number mean to you? What associations do you have with it? What do you think it means if you weigh different numbers? I don't think you're going to be happy and settled if you don't take the time to figure this out.

Unless your doctor needs your weight (for medication refills, etc.) I would refuse next time to be weighed -- I work for doctors and a number of our patient's do this -- especially some with poor body images. If you were feeling fine when you walked in and not when you walked out after being weighed, why put yourself through that? A simple "No thanks, I don't want to be weighed today" works fine!!

It's not the number but how you feel!!!
