Make sure your doctor checks you out fully. In 1999, I had an HSG that showed open tubes, this meant my only problem was the PCOS. I just had another HSG in July and my tubes are now both blocked.
I had lost 70 lbs. in an effort to get pregnant, but after two years of regular ovulation and well-timed sex, I got depressed that my weight loss was not helping. I have now gained all the weight back. I had pinned too many hopes on losing weight to get pregnant, when now it turns out that I can never get pregnant without IVF, no matter what I weigh.
My game plan now is to get in the program to get a lap-band while doing IVF. If I do not get pregnant by the time I get approved for surgery, I will have the surgery and do more IVF later. While I am going through the IVF cycles I will exercise and eat right and hope to lose weight. It will actually be harder to lose weight with all of the hormones I will have to take, but I will do everything I can.
