Default I'm doing everything right. I'm losing motivation, not weight.

So, I just did some conversion thing that says in order for me to lost 1 pound a week i can consume approx. 1,700 calories a day for my moderate activity level. I'm a calorie counter and I can tell you right now I dont consume that many calories a day and yet I've been maintaining weight for about a month now. WHY!!! Is there something i'm doing wrong? Any advice?

What are you using to calculate this? Fitday isn't the greatest tool for that, it tends to give you a number that's too high. Try the Mayo Clinic one: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cal...ulator/NU00598 (although this is how much you need to maintian, not lose).

But on the other hand, have you tried upping your calories? I'm so not helpful sorry.

Sounds like a familiar story!!! Last year after I had lost like 40 pounds I was a calorie counting maniac. I would mathematically figure out precisely how many calories I burned a day minus what I ate and come up with how much I thought I should lose the next day....never worked. Our bodies are just not like that and believe it or not sometimes eating MORE can get you past a plateau. I'm not saying go eat a big mac, large fries and 5 cup cakes, but just a couple hundred more calories may help.

But sometimes there's just no explaination, I know I've stayed up nights trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong! You're probably doing everything right, just try and mix it up a little to shock your bod!

Maybe that's the problem - maybe you aren't eating enough. Your body maybe thinking "eeek not enough food, must store for later!!"

When I was counting calories, I hit a dead stop, then started eating about 150-200 calories more a day than I had been, and then began to lose again. Might be worth a try!

The same thing happened to me. I was on a plateau for a month and a half until this morning. I finally lost a pound! Yay me! After doing my research, I discovered that avoiding breakfast was a big factor and not eating enough in general. I've been starving my body and working out 5 days a week. Talk about discouragement when I thought I was doing everything right!!

I changed my eating habits by eating oatmeal or an egg in the am (ha) and little snacks to increase my calories. I confess, I still need to increase my calories but the main thing I'm making myself do is eating that breakfast every morning, even if I don't want to. Also, taking a rest week helped. You have to trick your body. Changing up your exercise routine is another thing you might want to try. Drink more water as well. Most of all, don't give up! Think about that dress or that pair of jeans you want to fit into so badly. You will start seeing results if you stick with it. It will all pay off, I promise! Consistency is key!

Are you exercising? Maybe it's time to shake up your work-out routine.

First you might still be consuming too many calories. I did my fitday at the lowest activity level because I think the calories calculators give you levels that are too high. So you might want to drop you calories down a bit.

The other theory like many people said you might not be eating enough.

So basically what I'm suggesting is you need to play with your calories, try eating more one week, if you loose stick with that, if you stay then drop it down to like 1500 and see what it does for you.

Good luck and hang in there.

Everyone's made good suggestions so I won't be repetitive. But here's another idea. Have you tried mini-meals? I was having trouble losing any weight at all; I was seriously considering WLS. I switched to eating 6 "mini-meals" a day and it's made all the difference. I have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert. Snacks are small like 15 almonds or some sugar free jello with light Cool Whip. Same with dessert, just something small.

Hope this helps!
