I personally don't use Tofu, but for stir frys, I will use what ever I have on hand. We don't eat a lot of beef, but if I've got that, I'll slice it super thin and with the veggies, 2 or 3 oz of meat goes a long way. If you eat pork, I've been known to take a pork chop, slice it thin, and add that to the stir fry as well. When all I have are veggies, I'll toss in a few peanuts or cashews for a little protein (not much though - but I figure better than nothing)
I have also found Barilla Plus pasta - I don't have it too often, but when I don't have time to cook, I'll just throw some sauce together, and use the pasta. 17g of protein for 1 serving! Not good for P1, but once in a while for P2 or 3, it's not horrible.
Can you post the ingredients for the Barilla Plus? I seem to remember looking at it and then buying my normal 100% whole wheat pasta rather than the Barilla Plus but I can't remember what it had that I didn't like.
There are several recipes in the recipe section if I remember correctly. the big thing to remember about tofu is that it adsorbs the flavors around it. Don't try to eat it straight out of the box/container.
Here's a link that has some good ideas about tofu and recipes, you'll have to dig through and see which ones are good for SBD.
I just don't want someone new to South Beach to see the mention of it and assume that it is approved for South Beach. It needs to be whole grain to be truly approved and semolina is not approved.

That's the ONLY way I eat tofu! :P My friends think I'm nuts. At one of our cafeterias there is a salad bar with plain tofu cubes. I eat that with a ton of broccoli and mushrooms and people look at me like I'm crazy. But I love it! Tofu is most often prepared with soy sauce, which I can't eat, so the only way I trust it is plain- or I keep it in the fridge to toss in palak paneer when I order/make Indian food.
I haven't ever cooked tofu, but I've been meaning to try my brothers way, which is to cut into bite sized cubes, marinate in teriyaki sauce, sute the cubes until browned, then dip into more teriyaki. I'd have to find a recipe for sf teriyaki though.
