Morning Chick!...and also good morning to everyone else!

I'm kind of taking it easy today..the last couple of weeks have been wild and stressful (work-wise) so today is my day to play outside in the yard before it gets too hot..need to do some weeding and finish cutting back my roses. I'm getting ready to put a roast in the crock pot and just let it cook itself all day long.

We did get to have a little fun on Saturday though. We went to see the new "Mike the Tiger" at LSU's campus. Mike V died in May and the new Mike was released into his (3 million dollar) habitat on Saturday morning. We didn't go till 2, so the crowds had thinned out by then. He is gorgeous and seemed to love his new place..he was playing and rolling around and putting on quite a show..he seemed very happy (I'd be happy too if I had a 3 million dollar house!) While we were there, a guy came up to my husband and started asking him questions. My son and I looked at his press tag and then realized he was from the NY Times. Haven't seen it published yet online. I wish I would have gotten better pictures of the facility..it's really something to see with a big natural looking pool and a waterfall etc. Lucky Mike!

Morning everyone!

I overplanned for today, so we'll see what I actually get done.

Good morning, LC, thanks for starting us up this morning!

Cat: Sounds like fun seeing Mike the Tiger! I have quite a few friends from LA, and they're die-hard LSU fans. (One flies in from HI for important home games!)

ME: I was doing touch-ups of the living room paint Sat. and decided I should paint our bedroom yesterday. Well, got the paint on the walls and it needed two coats. Since the bedroom was all messed up, DH and I set up the tent and slept in the back yard with the dogs. It wasn't a bad sleep, just not as much sleep as I would've liked. So, I've got laundry, finish painting the bedroom, work on the rose bushes, ironing, and straightening up the house. Like I said, we'll see if it all gets done!

Have a great Labor Day, chicks!

~Kim

Morning, Little Chick!

Cat - I have yardwork to get done but it's supposed to rain most of today and all week! I think the outdoor stuff will have to wait.

Kim - Brian finally agreed to take off all the Pokemon peel and stick stickers off his wall (and they peeled off nicely) so now the sticky stuff from some posters we had are really noticeable. I'm thinking of just sanding off the sticky stuff and touching up the spots with white paint until he decides he wants to empty his room to do a bigger redecorating job. He wants the carpet pulled out and tile but in so I told him that will have to wait until we can empty the room. He still has lots of stuff on the floor that he has agreed to garage sale so I just need to get him to sort it all.

missmess - I got DH and Brian to do quite a bit of organization yesterday so I actually got most of my scouting stuff in the bedroom. Dh even got some floors mopped. He's unemployed so he has a lot more time than I do.

Me - I did way too much shopping yesterday for Brian's school supplies and stuff for Scout Roundtable. I still need to finish grocery shopping today but yesterday I did the dollar store, Target, WalMart, and Sams as well as two grocery stores. I couldn't find mussels for the recipe from the cookbook I wanted to make but they did have a seafood mix that had mussels, shrimp, and other seafood that worked with the recipe with a little whole wheat baguette.

Happy Labor Day! It's living up to it's name, we discovered our hot water heater had been leaking from the pressure release valve for who knows how long, and after repairing the heater this morning, now we're in the process of tearing out drywall and flooring. Thank goodness it's only in a small area, but it's a messy job. Dustin came over to help out, so that freed me.
We had our BBQ yesterday, and despite my cold, we had a great day. I was even able to stay OP, but that was mostly due to the fact that I wasn't able to eat and breathe at the same time.
For supper today, Dustin and Andrea are coming to help us finish up the leftovers, but other than that, it's going to just be a quiet day around here for a change.

Sounds like the rest of you are all enjoying the long weekend. Take care, and don't eat or drink too much!

Oh, let's see ... it's after 4 p.m., so the day is nearly over! I cooked breakfast for hubby and me this morning. He's worked outside all day today and I have been in the house. We are doing a big organization project around here, so there's stuff to do no matter which way you turn.

The current project is cleaning out my office completely on the main floor of the house so that we can install a new floor. We are installing hardwood in my office and extending it all the way out through the foyer so it will match. We got most everything out of my office last night with the eception of the corner unit desk, which I gave to my niece and she picked up this afternoon, and two shelving units I need to empty. That is on my agenda for this evening. Everything I plan to move back into my office is going into the dining room. Everything else is either being stored in my supply area in the basement, given away, or thrown away. So, everything in there has a destination. Once I finish getting it all out, we will rip up the carpet. Oh joy!

I am a self-employed career services professional, and I actually worked for a couple of hours today on a project that I promised out by tomorrow morning.

I think we are going to stop whatever we are doing within the next hour and grill some steaks for dinner and then go look at some flooring.

It has been a labor-intense day for me ... not much of a holiday at all. But, I try to only work Monday - Wednesday each week, so I have something to look forward to later in the week!

Oh no ... sorry about the leak problem. That's a pain in the butt, I am sure.

I have a daughter named Andrea -- no Dustin, just an Andrea.

DH and Brian went out flying their remote control airplane at the park while I did the grocery shopping and the gym. It was very empty at the gym. I had no trouble getting on the stationary bike. I set steak to marinating before I went so I don't have much to do to fix dinner.

Been an emotional weekend but doing well, overall. I have been off plan like you would NOT believe, but seeing as though I have to force myself to eat, one bad meal a day hasn't ruined my weight or anything. Thought I'd pop in to let everyone know I'm still alive and slowly but surely making this place a home.

Hello favorite people...been gone quite awhile, and don't expect a parade or anything at my return..but life has had me by the ying-yangs..i'm sure you've all been there at some time. I have however been walking ALMOST daily, at the very least 5xwk. I have gone abit he-wire on the 'system'..and have packed on a additional 2lbs. So here I am again..not anywhere near the 'there place',but surviving marital woe's/low thryoid/and blasting away cholesterol...not a merry place, but I'm clicking away. Dr. is still trying to find the mix for me to get my throyid up to normal...it's try, wait 2months/try a larger dose, wait 2months..it will at this point take me a yr. b4 i finially find that 'normal' thyroid balance. I do not 'use' this as a excuse, although I could somewhat..but what for? it is afterall my body, and I want to stay in it for several more decades. I bid you well..and I will try to get back to you more often, although I don't know how you fit it all in...eat right/and excercise/take care and have time left over to be on the pc..hugs to you all. choices..hey,it's all we have ....

Hi everyone, tired and on my way to bed, but thought I'd pop in. I did grocery shopping and other errands this morning, then off to the pool for our last swim of the summer, and it was a perfect day for it. Dinner was a cookout at my mom's, perfectly on plan, I took some Hebrew Nt'l reduced fat franks and mom had grilled ground sirloin burgers, raw veggies, ww hot dog buns and ww pitas, sauerkraut. Now summer's officially over, time to wash all the beach towels and fold them away, remove all the pool toys from the car to the garage.

The real reason I wanted to pop in was to say, it's my SB anniversary, 100 days on plan today! 28 lbs gone, that's a lb every 3.5 days. Thanks to everyone for your help and encouragement. Have I mentioned how much I love the beach?
