Default Thursday on The Beach

Wakey! Wakey! It's still pitch black out there but I need company. Even Hershey is still asleep this morning.

Yesterday's vet trip was not good - Lucy has a tumour in her nose and the prognosis is poor. I'll get more info when all the tests are back but things are not looking good. I go to town again today to pick her up. There will be some hard decisions to make over the next few weeks but I will not let her suffer.

Moving on.....

The weatherman lied again! We were to have rain and a major cool-down last night but the muggy weather seems unable to get across the St Lawrence for some reason. Ottawa got major t-storms but here....nada!

This is the last long weekend of the summer so our "summer people" are packing up. So silly because September is a gorgeous month here! I can understand leaving if you have kids in school but most of these folks are retired! There are lots of BBQs, art shows and other events going on - we could even go and hear Eddie and the Stingrays in the Park! I've never heard of them but...

Time for coffee and some breakfast. An omelet sounds good. Maybe Hershey will share!

What's happening with you as August winds up?

Ruth, I am so, so sorry to hear the devastating news about Lucy. I am saying special prayers for her, miracles DO happen. This is a very difficult time for you and I'm glad you're not going to let her suffer.

We're back into the muggies today and already I can tell I'm going to have to turn the AC back on. And Jake's been struggling with our pool water all week, it's turned green on us, and he can't figure out what the problem is. So no swimming today. I'm racking my brain to think of something we can do today that will be fun for the girls.

How's everyone's day shaping up?

Ruth: So very sorry to hear about Lucy's problems. Bless her heart and yours too. I will keep both of you in my thoughts.
Cottage: How about going to the movies today? Cool and entertaining!
Me: had a really really rough day yesterday...too many bad (and good) flooding back, making it very emotional... but today is a new day and it has to be better, right? I'm headed off to start getting ready for school. I only have a few more computers to finish working on in my classroom and start having classes on Tuesday.

Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear about your Lucy. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts.

Cottage, how about some good old fashioned sprinkler fun?

Femme, good luck finishing up your last preparations!

Me, started my new job yesterday. It's going to be a completely different environment from my last job. If I live through it, it will be great experience!

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Ruth: I'm so very sorry to hear about Lucy. Hugs and happy thoughts to you and the Girls as you go through this rough time!

Cottage: Ewww, no fun being muggy there, huh? Hope you and the girls find something fun to do today!

femme: I'm sure today will be a much better day for you!

Me: I actually woke up early this morning to work out! I can't believe it! I've had to slow my work-outs WAY down and just started my Doc's workout suggestion today. I feel good and hope that working out in the morning will give me the energy to get through my day. I've been crashing every night as soon as I get home from work.

Tonight's supper is a crock-pot tortilla soup that is OP as long as I don't eat the fried tortillas. I'll see how it turns out tonight and see if it's a keeper or not! Well, it sounds like DH is up, so I'd better go make some cawfee (I miss Schatzi!) and get breakfast going! Have a great Thursday, chicks!

Good Morning Girls,
Just a quick note to say hi and hope everyone is doing well today. I am trying to make a list to go to the store tonight, so I don't have to run errands over the long weekend. Any ideas for lunch??????? That seems to be very hard for me. I get tired of always eating salad and leftovers. Have a great day!

Morning girls... sorry I didn't pop in yesterday but it was a stressful night. My jake dog left our yard on tuesday night and didn't come home. I ended up with a call saying he was up the road. He has never in the 8 years left our yard. But the teens were setting off fireworks and crackers so we think he might have got spooked.

Kid wise is has been really quiet so I have put dd in charge so I can get school stuff done. So we are just about ready.... need to pick lunch things and maybe get the girls each a new pair of jeans.

Ruth - I am so sorry to hear about Lucy... to both of you. There is nothing harder. I will pray for the two of you.

Cottage- the end of summer is hard the kids are getting bored of the same ole thing. Hope you find something fun to do.

femme- have a great day.

Betty- good luck with the new job.

Kim- supper sounds so good. I miss Schatzi too, wonder where she has been.

bkstitch- have a great day.

Me- nothing other than organizing. Need to get my sorry butt back in gear. Next week is back to the grind for me I think I am up about 5 pounds.... to much eating and drinking and drinking and eating.

Have a happy ....

Good morning chicks,
Kids are delivered, walk taken, load of laundry going, dishwasher running, I think I'm getting back in the swing!

Poor, poor Lucy. I'm sad for you Ruth. It's so difficult to have to make those decisions.
bk, sorry to say, those are basically the things I eat for lunch. Nothing else comes to mind, but I'll try and think of some ideas. I do like soup and keep a couple of cans of lentil or vegetable around for lunch emergencies.
Kim be sure to post the recipe if the soup is good. I love crockpot recipes.
littlechick, September always feels like a fresh start to me, more so than the new year.
femme, have a good day at school!
cottage, hope you have fun with the girlies!

Dinner tonight is the buffalo chicken tenders from the recipe board. Looking forward to it! Then Girl Scout's parents meeting, then across the street to the Parks & Rec Committee meeting. This week has been one function or another every night.

Quick fly by for me. I've got 2 project engineers 'fighting' over me (or 'the resource' as I'm called ). AND there's no upper management here to straighten out the mess.

So, I'm off to multi task on multiple projects. Hopefully, I won't screw up! LOL Considering I test software for a Health Imaging company. I wouldn't want to pass the software with an elbow joint being replaced with knee parts. LOL

Wish me luck!

Hope everyone has an OP day!!!!!

Hey chickies, I'm baaaack! This waking up early and getting things done is pretty wonderful! I feel like I have a lot more energy already.

Betty: Congrats on the new job again! Hope it's wonderful for you!

bkstitch: My favorite lunch is the turkey wraps when I get bored with salads.

LC: It's such a bummer when our furbabies take off. The meter-reader sometimes forgets to completely latch the gate and they get out. I'm glad you found him!

Schmoodle: Sounds like you need a big break! Hope tonight is a good night with all your meetings going on!

mare: What a pain in the neck that must be for you! Hope work slows down a little soon!

hulamom: WTG! Congrats! You're doing a GREAT job! I can't wait until I hit the double digits!

About to leave for lunch and I'm feeling pretty good. It's been a productive morning so far, although a bit over-productive as I have no idea what I'm going to do this afternoon or tomorrow. Oh well!

Waking up early definitely seems to be the ticket for me! I just hope I can keep this up! Working out for the first time this week (on Doc's orders) also seems to have helped A LOT! For the first time since Monday, I'm feeling great! Well, gotta go lock up the office so we don't get stuck helping lunch time customers!! Have a great day and here's some for everyone!
